The University of Ghana, UG Legon Distance Learning Admission Form for the 2024/2025 academic session is out. The UG distance learning admission is open to both Ghanaian and International applicants.

Entry Requirements into the Distance Education Programme
WASSCE/SSSCE APPLICANTS
General Entry Requirements
To be admitted to any programme, Senior High School graduates must possess:
At least credits (A1 – C6 in WASSCE and A – D in SSSCE) in English, Core Mathematics and Integrated Science (for Science applicants) or Social Studies (for non-science applicants) and three elective subjects in General Arts/Business/Science/ Vocational, with a total aggregate not exceeding 30. In addition, Science applicants should have at least a grade of C6 in WASSCE/D in SSSCE in Social Studies/Life Skills and non-science applicants should also have at least a grade of C6 in WASSCE/D in SSSCE in Integrated Science/Core Science.
The required subjects for specific programmes (in calculating aggregates) are as follows:
Bachelor of Arts
- Core Mathematics, English & Social Studies
- Any Three Electives
- Applicants must have at least C6 in Elective Mathematics to read Economics.
Bachelor of Arts in Administration
- Core Mathematics, English & Social Studies
- Any Three Electives
Bachelor of Science in Administration
- Core Mathematics, English & Social Studies
- Any Three Electives
Bachelor of Science in Information Technology
- Core Mathematics, English & Integrated Science
- Any Three Electives
MATURE APPLICANTS
Entry requirements:
Applicants must be at least 25 years old at the time of application.
Applicants must register for, attend and complete the University of Ghana Access Course and pass the Mature Students’ Entrance Examination conducted by the University.
Applicants who pass the Entrance Examination must purchase an e-voucher from designated Banks to access the UG online application form.
The Access Course is run at the Learning Centres in the 10 regional capitals.
Admissions will be into Level 100 of the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Arts in Administration Programmes.
APPLICANTS IN POSSESSION OF THE UNIVERSITY OF GHANA DIPLOMAS OR RECOGNISED EQUIVALENT DIPLOMAS
Holders of University of Ghana Diplomas or recognised equivalents, with a Final Grade Point Average (FGPA) of 3.00 or better in any of the under-listed programmes, are eligible to apply to the SAME area of study, and supported with two other subjects in a related field, for admission. In addition, such applicants MUST have WASSCE/SSSCE passes in three (3) Core subjects and two (2) electives in the appropriate subjects OR credit passes in five subjects including English Language, Science and Mathematics at the GCE ‘O’ Level as well as passes in two subjects at the GCE ‘A’ Level.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Applicants must be holders of a Diploma in Nursing from a recognized university, with a Final Grade Point Average (FGPA) of 3.00 or better. In addition, such applicants MUST have WASSCE/SSSCE passes in three (3) Core subjects and two (2) electives in the appropriate subjects or credit passes in five subjects including English Language, Science and Mathematics at the GCE ‘O’ Level as well as passes in two subjects at the GCE ‘A’ Level.
All Diploma holders will be admitted to Level 200 in the same subject area as their diploma qualification
HOLDERS OF HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMAS (HND)
Holders of Higher National Diplomas (HND) from a recognized Polytechnic with a Final Grade Point Average (FGPA) of 3.25 or better in any of the under-listed programmes, are eligible to apply to the SAME area of study, and where required, supported with one other subject in a related field, for admission. In addition, such applicants MUST have WASSCE/SSSCE passes in three (3) Core subjects and two (2) electives in the appropriate subjects or credit passes in five subjects including English Language, Science and Mathematics at the GCE ‘O’ Level as well as passes in two subjects at the GCE ‘A’ Level.
All HND holders will be admitted to Level 200 in the same subject area as their HND qualification.

DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES
General Admission Requirements
To be admitted to a Diploma programme, a candidate must satisfy the following minimum requirements:
SSSCE Holders:
i.     Six Passes (A-D) in all subjects, including English Language and Mathematics; and
ii.    At least three (3) of the passes must be in subjects in General Arts, Business or Science.
WASSCE Holders:
i.      Six Passes (A1-D7) in all subjects, including English Language and Mathematics; and
ii.     Must have a minimum of C6 in any three (3) subjects in General Arts, Business or Science.
How to Apply for University of Ghana Distance Learning Admission
GHANAIAN APPLICANTS
University of Ghana online application E-VOUCHERS can be obtained by Ghanaian applicants for GH¢200.00 via USSD Payment or at the following banks: Access Bank, Ecobank, Republic Bank, Agricultural Development Bank, Ghana Commercial Bank, Zenith Bank, Universal Merchant Bank, Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG), Prudential Bank and Fidelity Bank. Ghanaian applicants in the following categories are expected to apply using the E-VOUCHER:
WASSSCE/SSSCE Applicants and Ghanaians with Foreign Background
WASSCE/SSSCE applicants and Ghanaians who apply with foreign qualifications from schools which write the International Baccalaureate (IB) and the IGCSE such as Alpha Beta, Faith Montessori International School, Ghana International School, New Nation International School, SOS – Hermann GMEINER International College and Tema International School etc., should do the following:
At any of the Banks listed above, applicants will be required to indicate their names, mobile phone numbers and e-mail addresses on the bank voucher before they are served. Those without e-mail addresses will however not be disadvantaged. A confirmation of their PIN will be sent to their mobile phones. After purchasing the e-voucher, applicants should CAREFULLY follow the instructions given. After the application has been submitted online, the PIN should be kept in a safe place as they may be required by applicants when assessing their admission status at a later date.
DIPLOMA/HND TO DEGREE APPLICANTS
After buying the e-voucher, Diploma/HND to Degree applicants are expected to scan and attach the following documents to their online application forms:
- Diploma/HND transcripts
- Where applicable, certified copies of ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level certificates/result slips
The pay-in-slips together with applicants’ certificates/result slips should be scanned and attached to the application form before submission online. The certificates/results slips should be scanned into one PDF or WORD document and attached to the application form.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS AND GHANAIANS APPLYING FROM ABROAD
International applicants and Ghanaians applying from abroad should NOT buy the e-voucher. They should use the following link to access the online application form for completion and submission.

All applicants are expected to pay to the University a non-refundable application processing fee of US$110.00.This fee can be paid directly or wire transferred into the University of Ghana ECOBANK Account.
