Regional Maritime University Postgraduate Admission Form for the 2022/2023 academic session has been released.

It is announced for the information of prospective applicants and the general public that the School of Graduate Studies, RMU, is offering the under-listed programmes for the 2022/2023 academic year, commencing August 2022, leading to the award of Master’s Degrees

POST-GRADUATE PROGRAMMES

  1. A. M.Sc. ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING
    B. M.Sc. BIOPROCESS ENGINEERING
    C. M.Sc. RENEWABLE ENERGY ENGINEERING
    D. M.Sc. SUBSEA OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE ENGINEERING
    E. M.Sc. INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING AND LOGISTICS (WEEKEND OPTION)
    F. M.A. PORT AND SHIPPING ADMINISTRATION (REGULAR AND WEEKEND
    OPTIONS)

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT FOR PROGRAMMES (A-C)

i. A good first degree in Engineering with at least a Second-Class Lower Division from
a recognized University for programmes (A-C)

ii. Applicants with B.Sc. in the Physical Sciences will be considered if they have, at
least, one (1) year relevant industry experience.

iii. Applicants with Third class in related fields, with at least two years (2) industry
experience may be considered. Such applicants will be subject to an interview
and/ entrance examination.

iv. Applicants must submit the following with applications:

a. Detailed Curriculum Vitae
b. Certified copies of transcripts and certificates
c. Personal statement of not more than 500 words (1½ pages) detailing your
motivation for wanting to study the Course and what you believe you will gain
from it.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT FOR PROGRAMME (D)

i. A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Marine / Mechanical /Civil /Naval /Offshore/
Electrical/ Electronics/ Petroleum/ Petrochemical / Chemical Engineering from a
recognized University with a second-class lower division may apply.

ii. Applicants with Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) of related fields with relevant
offshore oil and gas experiences will also be considered on case by case basis.
Applicants with slightly lower qualifications may be considered if they can
demonstrate they have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience.

iii. International applicants are also required to provide proof of proficiency in English.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT FOR PROGRAMMES (E-F)

i. A good First Degree with at least a Minimum of 2nd Lower Division in any of the following:
Social Sciences; Business Administration; Maritime Discipline and other related
Disciplines from a recognized University.
or

ii. The highest-grade Certificate of Competency for unrestricted service as Master Mariner
or Chief Engineer in the Merchant Navy.

ii. Applicants must submit the following with applications:
(i) Detailed Curriculum Vitae

(ii) A personal statement of not more than 500 words (iii) Three (3)
referee’s reports.

Download the Academic Referee’s Confidential Appraisal form from the University’s Website (www.rmu.edu.gh) and complete it in triplicate. Applicants will be required to attend a selection interview.

APPLY FOR RMU POSTGRADUATE ADMISSIONS

[I]       DOMESTIC APPLICANTS

All applicants for the 2022/2023 Academic Year admissions are required to use the Regional Maritime University [RMU] online application portal.  The procedure for the online application process is as follows:

[a]       Make appropriate payment of GH¢220.00 or $70.00 at the various sales centers for the RMU

E-Voucher:

Sale Centers

[i]         Regional Maritime University, Nungua – Accra, Cash Office

[ii]        All Branches of the Ghana Commercial Bank

[iii]       All Branches of Ecobank [foreign and local] [iv]       All-Regional and District Post Offices across Ghana

[b]        The E-Voucher contains the Pin and Serial Number required in completing the online form.

[c]        Access the online form by visiting the University’s online admissions portal at www.rmu.edu.gh/admissions  soon after payment.

[d]        In completing the online form, students will be required to upload their passport size photographs.

[e]        A completed form is not considered until it is SUBMITTED.

[g]       Applicants must print out application summary; attach transcriptscertificates and all other relevant documents.  These documents should be forwarded to the Registrar.

[h]        Candidates are strongly advised to visit Courier Companies in their Countries for assistance towards the return of the application documents [see f].

[c]        Applicants must print out application summary; attach transcriptscertificates and all other relevant documents. These documents should be sent to the Academic Registrar.

CLOSING DATE

The closing date for submission of application forms is Wednesday, 31st August, 2022. Candidates should note that no application will be accepted after the deadline.
