Types of Ukraine Visa

Before you are granted entry into Ukraine, you will need a visa, and the type of visa depends on your purpose of visit.

Transit Visa (Type B) – This type of visa can be issued as single-entry, two-entry or multi-entry visa for a period indicated in documents serving as a basis for visa issuance but for no longer than 12 months. Travelers with this type of visas are not expected to stay on the territory of Ukraine during each transit through Ukraine for more than five days.

Short-Term Visa (Type C) – This type of visa is issued to foreigners and stateless persons for entry into Ukraine if their stay in Ukraine does not exceed 90 days in the period of 180 days. Foreigners may be issued a single-entry, two-entry and multi-entry visas with a period of six months or period indicated in documents serving as a basis for visa issuance, but for no longer than five years.

Long-Term Visa (Type D) – This type of visa is issued to foreigners and stateless persons for entry to Ukraine with the intention to obtain a document allowing them to stay or residency in Ukraine for a period exceeding 90 days. The long-term visas are only issued by a Ukrainian diplomatic mission abroad as multi-entry for 90 days.

There are specific Ukraine visas that apply to Ghanaians and they include:

1. Ukraine Tourist visa

The Ukraine tourist visa is issued to person(s) who want to visit family members, relatives and friends in Ukraine from Ghana. The tourist visas are single-entry visa and are only valid for up to 3 months (90 days).

2. Ukraine Business Visa

The Ukraine business visa is issued to travellers visiting the country for brief business meetings, conferences or lectures. This single-entry visa is only valid for 90 days. Applicants for this visa will have to provide necessary documents to support their reason for traveling.

3. Ukraine Student Visa

The Ukraine student visa is a multiple-entry visa granted to applicants who want to study in Ukraine. Applicants must be granted admission into a Ukraine university before applying for the student visa.

  3. One colored passport-size photos (35 mm x 45 mm)

  7. Documentation of financial capacity

  1. Visit the Ukraine visa application portal – http://visa.mfa.gov.ua/
  2. Fill the online application form appropriately.
  3. Make your visa application payment on the portal.
  4. Once your payment has been approved, you’ll be notified that your e-visa has been sent to you. However, this is not always the case. You only received an email with a button to download it.
  5. Download the visa (in pdf format) straight from the page.
  6. Print out the saved/downloaded pdf document.
  7. OR, applicants can also visit the Ukraine Embassy in Nigeria to obtain the visa application form.

Ukraine Visa Processing Time

The time limit for issuance of Ukraine visa by a Ukrainian diplomatic mission varies.

Urgent processing (Up to 5 working days) – The urgent visa issuance is processed upon request of a foreigner and in the period determined by a Ukrainian diplomatic mission abroad.

Ordinary processing (Up to 10 working days) – Unless otherwise stated, this period may be extended up to 30 working days.
