Requirements of South Korean Universities

Depending on the level of your education, South Korean universities have different requirements for all programmes. So, before applying, you need to carefully review these requirements.

For undergraduate programs, most courses in South Korean universities are taught in Korean. It is most likely that you’ll have to learn the language first and provide proof of proficiency in the said language.

Generally, a Korean language proficiency certificate is required, TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) level 3 (intermediate level) or above is required for admittance, except for an English exclusive school.

The general admission period for Korean universities for Spring is between September to November, and for Fall, it is between May to June. The exact application period may start at different times depending on universities.

For postgraduate programs, most universities are starting to offer international programs taught in English. These programs will no longer require examination results and are suitable for international applicants. However, you’ll need to somewhat be proficient in English. Recommended English Proficiency Tests are TOEFL or IELTS.
