It is announced for the information of prospective applicants and the general public that the School of Graduate Studies, RMU, is offering the under-listed programmes for the 2024/2025 academic year has not yet been specified., leading to the award of Master of Science Degrees.
M.Sc. Environmental Engineering
This course aims to produce graduates combining technical and scientific skills with an understanding of the environment and land-based industries who can contribute to the development of environmental solutions in urban and rural areas. The course will cover environmental programmes related to air, water and soil waste and recycling, and generally the development of sustainable green technologies and economies. An essential focus of the training programme is to equip the graduates with the necessary skills to enable them enter into self-employment by judiciously harnessing and processing our natural resources.
M.Sc. Bio-Processing Engineering
Today’s issues of climate change and declining fossil fuel reserves are driving the expansion of renewable energy technologies and the production of biofuels and industrial raw materials from crops. A climate-saving and protecting, economically efficient, resources-saving and socially acceptable energy supply is the key challenge of the 21st century. The programme aims to prepare highly qualified engineers capable of finding solutions to technological problems in the renewable energy, environmental and bioprocessing engineering sectors as well as allied processing industries in order to satisfy the needs and desires of society.
Note:
- Modules would be run on weekends
- Industry-led programme with provision of workplace attachment and industry-led research
- Scholarships available
ENTRY REQUIRMENTS
- Applicants must have a good first degree in Engineering with at least second class Lower Division from a recognized University. Applicants with a B.Sc. in the Physical Sciences will be considered if they have at least one (1) year relevant industry experience. The University may consider applicants who possess a third class but with at least 2 years’ industry experience. Such applicants will be subject to an interview.

- Certified copies of transcripts and certificates
- Personal statement of not more than 500 words (1.5 pages) detailing your motivation for wanting to study the course and what you believe you will gain from it.
HOW TO APPLY
[I] DOMESTIC APPLICANTS
All applicants for the 2024/2025 Academic Year admissions are required to use the Regional Maritime University [RMU] online application portal. The procedure for the online application process is as follows:
[a] Make appropriate payment of GH¢210.00 or $70.00 at the various sales centers for the RMU E-Voucher:Sale Centers
[i] Regional Maritime University, Nungua – Accra, Cash Office
[ii] All Branches of the Ghana Commercial Bank
[iii] All Branches of Ecobank [foreign and local]
[iv] All Regional and District Post Offices across Ghana
[b] The E-Voucher contains the Pin and Serial Number required in completing the online form. [c] Access the online form by visiting the University’s online admissions portal at www.rmu.edu.gh/admissions soon after payment. [d] In completing the online form, students will be required to upload their passport size photographs. [e] A completed form is not considered until it is SUBMITTED. [g] Applicants must print out application summary; attach transcripts, certificates and all other relevant documents. These documents should be forwarded to the Registrar. [h] Candidates are strongly advised to visit Courier Companies in their Countries for assistance towards the return of the application documents [see f].
