About ScholarshipÂ
ISLAMABAD: In the wake of the devastating floods that swept through Pakistan, causing unprecedented damage to infrastructure and affecting millions of lives, a beacon of hope emerges for university students from flood-hit districts. Many of these students face the grim possibility of discontinuing their higher education due to financial constraints.
The USAID-funded Merit and Needs-based Scholarship Program, which has been aiding students from financially disadvantaged households since 2004, has stepped in to alleviate some of these financial burdens. The program has announced that it will provide scholarship funding for two semesters to support flood-affected students. This initiative will be in collaboration with thirty partner universities across the country.
Degree Level:
USAID Scholarships for Flood Affected students in Pakistan 2024 are available to undertake Undergraduate level programs at USA Universities.

Scholarship Benefits:
- Full tuition fee coverage for two semesters: Fall 2023 and Spring 2024.
- A stipend that covers Boarding & Lodging, Transportation, and other Academic Costs for the two semesters.

Eligibility Criteria:
Eligibility Criteria:
- Students must be enrolled in the 2nd to 7th semester in Fall 2023 in a four/five years undergraduate degree program.
- Open to all disciplines and subjects.
- Applicants must hail from flood-affected districts/sub-districts/UC Tehsils as identified by the Government of Pakistan/PDMA/District Administration.
- Proof of flood damage, such as damage to household or livelihood, is required. Note: Fake images sourced from the internet will lead to immediate rejection.
- Shortlisted candidates will undergo an interview by the Institutional Scholarship Award Committee of the respective University.
- A significant emphasis is on gender equality, with 50% of the scholarships reserved for female candidates.
Application Procedure:
- Interested students can apply through the HEC Online Application System at https://usaidmnbsp-fas.hec.gov.pk/.
- After online submission, a printout of the application form, accompanied by the necessary supporting documents, should be submitted to the student financial aid offices of the respective university.
- Incomplete applications will not be entertained.
Important Notes:
- Scholarships will be awarded strictly based on merit. However, the HEC reserves the right to revoke the scholarship if any information provided by the applicant is found to be false during physical verification.
- Admissions secured on a self-sustain/self-support/self-finance basis, evening programs with higher fee structures, and two-year bachelor’s, associate, or lateral degree programs are not eligible.
- Students already availing of any other scholarship or continuous grant are not eligible.
- The scholarship will only cover two semesters.
