These are the top 20 Senior High Schools in Ghana based On WASSCE Results 2024

The 2024 WASSCE results have been particularly encouraging compared to last year since almost 60% of the candidates may get university admission if the government relax on its A1 to C6 qualification rule.

2024 WAEC Ghana Statistics

A total number of 422,883 candidates made up of 203,753 males and 219,130 females from 977 schools entered for the examination. This figure is 5.25% lower than the 2021 entry figure of 446,352. A total number of 2,818 (0.67%) of the candidates who registered were absent from the examination.

  • The performance of candidates with respect to the four Core Subjects is shown in Table 1.

  • The comparative performance of candidates in the Core Subjects in the WASSCE (SC) from 2020 to 2022 is shown in Table 2.

Table 2 shows an upward trend in the performance of candidates at Grade C6 and better in Social Studies over the three-year period (2020-2022).

English Language, Mathematics (Core) and Integrated Science, showed a fluctuating trend in the performance of candidates over the three-year period (2020-2022).

After releasing the results – WAEC has gone ahead to release a ranking of Senior High Schools based on an average pass mark:
