Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance and Admin. Director to join our team at our office in Accra, Ghana. The Finance and Administrative services for the company will provide strategic business guidance to further develop the company as a financially sound organization General responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
Finance Control & Budgeting
• Provide financial leadership and direction for the business. Act as the connection between the finance team and the CEO helping to drive strategy and hit targets using their financial insight, while also overseeing the finance team as a whole
• Develop and control the company’s annual operating budget to ensure that all financial targets are met and financial and statutory regulations complied with
• Generate timely monthly, quarterly, yearly and project-specific financial reports in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles
• Contribute to the development and achievement of company objectives by providing advice and guidance on financial strategy as a member
• Oversee all accounting procedures and systems used by the company including the implementation of new systems used by the company including the implementation of new systems and procedures
• Review reports and analyse projections of income against actual figures to suggest methods of improving the planning process
• Ensure the company meets its financial and legal responsibilities
• Ensure the comply with all finance rules and procedures of the company
• Provide guidance for the Chief Executive on strategic business directions by conducting financial planning, analysis, forecasting, developing scenarios to inform decision-making, and advising on key directions and options for development
• Provide analytical financial thinking to qualify ideas as good and appropriate
• Oversee audit activities and ensure compliance with government regulations
• Coordinate with the payroll management company to ensure all government regulations are in line for payroll, as well as organizational policy for benefits
• Develop and utilise forward-looking, predictive models and activity-based financial analysis to provide insight into the company’s operations and business plans including cash requirements
• Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls, financial systems, and financial procedures
• Any other reasonable duties as required from time to time
Administration
• Oversee Human Resource function, in conjunction with the Chief Executive
• Supervise Finance and Admin. Manager and other team members
• Lead facilities, inventory, IT systems, and other administrative functions, supported by Finance and Admin Manager.
• Ensure all insurance policies are renewed on an annual basis
• Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team through demonstrated business judgment combined with an ability to effectively influence others
• Perform any other reasonable duties as required from time to time
Qualification/Experience
• Degree educated or be able to demonstrate significant relevant experience for successful delivery in the role
• A formal accounting qualification, e.g ICA, ACCA, or equivalent
• Strong integrity, collaboration skills, and ethics
• Experience gained in the industry in a senior role incorporating financial control, accounting, forecasting, and commercial/finance business partnering including leading month-end close working with auditors, preparation of P&L and cashflow forecasts, and supporting and challenging operational decisions
• Proficient I.T skills along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint)
• Demonstrable strong financial management and commercial experience and track record of supporting business growth
• Ability to formulate financial plans (long-term and tactical) and ensure full engagement
• Ability to influence change and build/maintain strong financial management within the business
• Must be capable of maintaining a high level of energy and team spirit that enhances goal attainment
• In-depth understanding of budget management
• Excellent negotiation and networking skills
• An enthusiastic leader and strong team player, with the ability to operate and excel in a changing and rapidly growing environment
• excellent analytical, oral, and presentation/communication skills

• Experience as Head of Finance or Finance Director ideally within a construction or house-building organization
