Job Purpose

• To supervise audit teams to effectively undertake audit assignments in order to add value to the organisation

Duties & Responsibilities

• Reviews audit working papers
• Reviews draft internal audit reports
• Drafts proposals for the update of procedures and guidelines for the internal audit function of the agency
• Leads audit teams to undertake assurance engagements and investigation of records of the agency
• Makes recommendations for the design and implementation of appropriate training programes for staff in the internal audit unit
• Monitors the performance of subordinates and submits report
• Coaches, mentors and provides on-the-job training to subordinates

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent from a tertiary institution
• A postgraduate qualification in auditing or accounting or related field of specialization and or
• A certified internal auditor or professional accountant with CIA/ICA/ACCA/CPA/CIMA membership
• A minimum of 4 years post (professional or postgraduate) qualification relevant work experience in professional auditing and or accounting in a reputable public or private sector organization’
