Purpose

To install and maintain specialized Fleet Management Systems, including – Jigsaw/Leica, GPS Augmentation, Shovel and Motion Metrics., Pit WiFi Network, LAS, Pit Cameras, Two Way Radio, B-Tag, Pit Traffic Light,  RTS, IDS ‘IBIS’, Radar, Trascale Weighing system, Fatigue Management and Collision Avoidance Systems and associated radio-frequency and solar technology systems.

Essential Duties

  • Execute PM’s and file checklists.
  • Complete radio coverage survey to determine the location of repeaters and towers.
  • Relocate wireless access points (repeater trailers) according to requirements and specifications.
  • Perform GPS coverage surveys in order to improve coverage.
  • Conduct repairs to minor components in order to restore operation/service.
  • Inspect/monitor the quality of the onboard works.
  • Communicate solutions and major problems to Supervisor and other relevant parties, as required.

Training & Experience

  • Technical Degree or HND in Electronic / Electrical, Telecommunication / Computer Engineering.
  • Minimum of (2 years’ experience, if Degree and 3 years’ if HND) related to Electrical / Electronic and Telecommunication systems and applications, preferably in a mine environment.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and standards and related safe working practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of IT Networks, IT Architecture and GPS.
  • Advanced knowledge of the operation and maintenance of FMS, Pit WiFi Network, LAS, Pit Cameras, Two Way Radio, B-Tag, Pit Traffic Light, RTS, IDS ‘IBIS’ and associated radio-frequency technology systems.

The employee is frequently exposed to fumes, high-temperature hazardous materials, sharp edges, dust, pinch-points, slippery surfaces, etc.
  • protective equipment (PPE): Work requires mandatory PPE such as helmet, goggles, high visible clothing, safety harness, earplugs, and dust mask according to working conditions.
