Overall Job Purpose

Responsible for leading the development and continuous improvement of the MODEC Maintenance philosophy, with the objective of guaranteeing the integrity of the rotating equipment and the production capacity throughout the life cycle of the assets.

Core Responsibilities

– Act as the first technical support channel for the Maintenance Engineer of each vessel;
– Technically support the operations area for maintenance and performance evaluation of the main rotating equipment of MODEC platforms such as gas turbines, steam turbines, gas compressors (centrifugal, screw and reciprocating), water injection pumps, pumps in general, diesel engines, gearboxes, etc.;
– Responsible for ensuring the consistent implementation of the Procedures for Operation, Training and Maintenance of the main rotating equipment of MODEC platforms;
– Responsible for interfacing with the manufacturers of the main rotating equipment of the MODEC platforms, maintaining a proactive relationship, being fully qualified to discuss technical matters related to the equipment;
– Responsible for periodic evaluations of the competence of Maintenance staff in the execution of their specific work interactions with the main rotating equipment of MODEC platforms;
– Technical support to buyers in relation to quotes, specifications and possible suppliers for the main activities related to equipment and maintenance in general;
– Ensure equipment overhaul quality in suppliers through workshop visits during the repair phase as well as being able to witness performance and acceptance tests at the workshop site. In addition, ensure that all supplier demands are met, avoiding terms of the warranty agreement
– Provide technical maintenance support to the vessel, collaborating in the development of MOCs (Management of Change) and RCA (Root Cause Analysis). Follow up of the action plans defined in these processes until their effective implementation;
– Ensure that the actions originated in the RCAs are dully executed
– Elaborate technical description for the hiring of services or purchase of materials/equipment related to mechanical maintenance activities;
– Support the HR department in technical interviews for positions related to mechanical maintenance (maintenance technician, mechanic leader, and maintenance superintendent);
– Analyze and define the best maintenance strategy;
– To be responsible for preparing the Budget for the preventive and corrective maintenance activities of the main rotating equipment on the MODEC platforms;

Educational Qualification

– Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering
– Post-graduation in Mechanical – expected

Languages

Fluent English

Requirements

Onshore position with the possibility to go offshore as per demand.

– 4 to 5 rotations of 28 days working and 14 days off.
– Onshore main work: 6 days a week – 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 12pm on Saturday.
– Offshore embarkations required and mandatory.
– Uplift for Ghana while in Ghana

To come to Ghana and work on and offshore, the professional will need:

– Yellow fever vaccination certificate;
– BOSIET;
– HUET;
– OG UK Medical Certificate.
