KSTU to Run Hybrid Mode of Teaching & Learning 2020/2021

Management of the Kumasi Technical University has indicated that academic activities at the institution for the 2020/2021 academic year will be both physical and virtual.

Public Relations Officer of the University, Dr. Charles Obeng Sarpong, says that the decision to introduce a hybrid mode of teaching and learning is to enable them make room for its increased number of students.

He explained that programmes that do not necessarily require practical work will be conducted virtually.

“First, the face-to-face thing we are doing will take place in addition to virtual strategy so programs that do not necessarily require practical work like laboratory work among others will be done online in addition to the normal face-to-face thing,” he said.

Dr. Charles Obeng Sarpong further assured that necessary measures have been put in place to ensure that the university community was safe amidst the global spike in Covid-19 cases.

“We are ready, and we want to assure the public and parents whose wards will be coming here that they will be safe because everything is set and their children are going to be in safe hands. Don’t forget we are also parents, and we will do what is best for our students,” he added.

Students of the university are expected to return to campus from Monday, January 11, 2021 for the 2020/2021 academic year.

This follows an announcement by President Akufo-Addo that tertiary institutions should reopen from January 9, 2021 for academic activities.
