GIJ Re-Opening Date for 2021/2022 Academic Year

Ghana Institute of Journalism, GIJ Re-Opening Date for 2021/2022. GIJ Resumption Date for Returning Students for the first semester of the 2021/2022 academic session has been released.

Following the release of the academic calendar, the management of the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) has released the new re-opening date for returning students for the 2021/2022 academic session.

The Academic Board of the Ghana Institute of Journalism has postponed the reopening date for the 2021/2022 academic year.

According to a statement by the management of the school dated Sunday, November 12, 2021, the decision was reached at an emergency meeting of the board.

‘At an Emergency Meeting held on Friday, 12 November, 2021, the Academic Board after careful consideration decided to postpone the beginning of the 2021/2022 Academic Year to Monday, 10th January 2022,” the statement said.

The management of the school has however stated that registration for the academic year remains open.

“Management wishes to bring to the attention of all students that registration for the 2021/2022 Academic Year is still open and will end on Friday, 24th December, 2021. Late registration with penalty will end on Friday, 7th January, 2022,” the management said.

The Ghana Institute of Journalism as part of its schedule for the new academic year had initially fixed the commencement of lectures for Monday, November 15, 2021.

However, in the statement announcing the postponement, the management said “lectures for the First Semester of the 2021/2022 Academic Year will commence on 10th January, 2022 for all students.”


FRESHMEN

Pursuant to bullet 10 of your admission letter, the medical examination for freshmen and
women will commence on 22nd November, 2021 and end on 6th December 2021 at
the North Dzorwulu Campus of the Institute from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m each day. The cost
of the medical examination is GH¢250.00 to be paid directly to the medical team
on the day via MOMO Number [0558724750].

Also, complete the attached form and present it on the day of the medical examination.
Please note that medical examination is a required condition of your admission into the
Ghana Institute of Journalism.

Kindly note that there is a private hostel facility close to the Institute at it’s Dzorwulu

REVISED REGISTRATION/REPORTING SCHEDULE FOR TOP-UP FRESHMEN

Freshmen, top-up students are to register online between Monday, 29th November,
2021 – Sunday, 12th December, 2021. (Registration can be done only after full
payment of fees using your permanent index number and password received after fee
payment).

ALSO, Diolma and Degree regular will start lectures on Monday, 10th January, 2022 while Top-up and Diploma Weekend will start lectures on Saturday, 15th January, 2022.

The Orientation date is as follows:

❖ Degree(Regular) – Wednesday, 5th January, 2022
❖ Diploma – Thursday, 6th January, 2022
❖ Top-up – Saturday, 8th January, 2022
