GES rolls out modalities for conducting BECE 2019

The Ghana Education Service has introduced certain modalities for conducting the 2019 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

according to the GES, No Form One or Two student in any Junior High School (JHS) should be registered as a candidate to take part in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), in 2019.

According to the laid down modalities from the GES, “Registration of candidates for the BECE for school candidates is strictly for students in JHS Form Three only”.

The GES has consequently asked directors of education at the regional, metro, municipal and levels to ensure that heads of basic schools strictly comply with the directives, warning “Any headteacher found to have gone contrary to the directives will be severely sanctioned by management”.

The modality also indicated, that registration for French and ICT were optional to Schools but not to candidates.
