Wood is currently recruiting for Senior Cost and Planning Engineer to be based in our offices in Accra, Ghana on a fixed term

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Cost & Planning Engineer

  • Lead detailed planning activities for the FPSO Procurement, engineering activities and Subsea activities via management of Light Construction Vessel usage for both short to long term window
  • Evaluate progress and report of Projects and Engineering activities within the Ghana Business Unit
  • Interface with the Integrated Projects Execution team to ensure effective linkage of activities for effective delivery and execution of specific scopes during shutdowns and coordinate Projects and Engineering Planning meetings and ensure outputs of plans are shared with Operations teams
  • Lead the Cost Engineering services support to Projects and Engineering team ensuring that the costs projections and phasing are aligned with updated schedules
  • Ensure High Quality Standard Cost and Planning reports are produced on a weekly basis highlighting any potential risks with proposals on mitigations of same
  • Validate VOWD and Cost Forecasts reports issued by relevant Cost Engineers and ensure appropriate linkage with Commitments as reported by the Contracts and Procurement team
  • Ensure robust long term plans (1-2 years) are in place for both topsides engineering (Assurance) and subsea activities identifying any areas of optimization or challenges including SIMOPS etc.
  • Produce specific mini plans as required and as directed by Projects and Engineering Manager and Discipline Leads
  • Support integration of Contractor execution schedules into overall TGL schedule and provide assurance to submissions
  • Develop resource loaded schedules as and when required and provide Offshore POB histograms highlighting any challenges to offshore execution and options for decision making
  • Maintain historical records and data against which trends may be measured and estimates developed
  • Initiate the development and use of improved tools and methods for project cost and planning administration and control
  • Support preparation of progress reports and dashboards for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Work to perform schedule risk analysis via use of PERTMASTER or similar tool as required at relevant stages of projects / package development and execution
  • Support the Project Controls Team Lead by providing inputs to the Business Unit ‘Annual Work Programme and Budget cycle’ for Projects and Engineering activities

Skills / Qualifications

  • Engineering Degree / or equivalent project controls experience
  • At least 12 years of experience in the offshore oil industry, working for both Contractor and Operator
  • Knowledge and application of Cost and Planning Engineering principles
  • Knowledge of design and implementation of projects in the offshore oil and gas industry
  • Good knowledge of planning, cost management and reporting systems together with ability to consolidate project data from a number of sources for overall presentation
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 is a must have
