GES Released Subjects for Study Leave with Pay and Regional Quota for 2019/2020 Academic Year

The Ghana Education Service (GES)  has released the subjects and regional quota for Study Leave with Pay for the 2019/2020 Academic Year.

In a letter dated June 13, 2019, to all Regional, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Education directorates, the GES outlined the specific subjects for study leave.

The GES outlined some specific subjects and regional quota for all Regions.

Regional Quota

With regional allocation, the Ashanti Region has the highest quota with 425 with the Eastern Region getting 340.

The Bring Ahafo Region followed with 318 and the Northern Region had 314 respectively.

The Western and Volta Regions had 304 and 302 respectively.

The Central Region had 270 with the Upper East and Upper West following with 250 and 225 respectively.

The Greater Accra Region had the least Regional quota with 200.

The National Headquarters had 50.

Subject Quota Percentage

ICT, English, French Biology, Chemistry, Physical Education, Physics, Mathematics, and Integrated Science were given 60%.

Special Education, Guidance and Counselling, Ghanaian Language, Early Childhood, Visual Arts, History, Geography, Religious Studies, Social Studies, and Technical Programs have 30% allocation.

Supply and Logistics, Laboratory Technician, and Library /Info Studies were allocated 10% and are specifically for Non-Teaching Staff Only.

NB: Technical Programs do not include Vocational Programs. ICT is for both Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff.

2019/20 Sturdy Leave Returns are expected to be submitted to the Director-General by October 30, 2019.
