Colleges of Education to Admit Students to Pursue Bachelor Degrees Programmes

Colleges of Education in the Country are likely to begin a 4-year Bachelor Degree Programmes in Education beginning from the 2018/19 Academic year.

This was revealed by the Minister of Education, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh at a forum of Head Teachers from selected Second Cycle Schools considered as low performing schools in the Northern Sector.

If this becomes a reality, Diploma in Basic Education holders shall be allowed a one year top up courses to obtain their degrees.

The Deputy Education Minister in Charge of Tertiary Education  ,Prof.Kwesi Yankah earlier indicated that all Public Colleges of Education in the Country shall soon become Satellite campuses for some selected Public Universities.

Meanwhile, Parliament of Ghana is yet to give final approval for the implementation of the above mentioned policies.
