Bank Tellers work with customers in processing cash deposits, withdrawals, verifying account information and referring customers to other departments where their questions can be answered if the situation is beyond their control.

In carrying out their roles, bank tellers are required to be very attentive, pay attention to detail to prevent fake cash from being deposited into the bank. They are also required to provide all necessary assistance to clients to improve their banking experience at all times.

Your work schedule is usually from 8-5 except for public holidays and weekends. Although, there are times when you may have to stay back late at work to balance accounts alongside your superior towards the next working day.

  • Assisting customers with processing transactions, such as deposits, withdrawals, or payments, resolving complaints or account discrepancies, and answering questions.

  • Tracking, recording, reporting, and storing information related to transactions, bank supplies, and customers, ensuring all information is accurate and complete.
  • Maintaining and balancing cash drawers and reconciling discrepancies.
  • Packaging cash and rolling coins to be stored in drawers or the bank vault.
  • Keeping a clean, organized work area and a professional appearance.
  • Handling currency, transactions, and confidential information in a responsible manner.
  • Using software to track bank information and generate reports.
