AEL Mining Services Recruitment for Mining Optimization Specialist

Purpose of Job 
To develop,deploy and exploit AEl’s blasting expertise through innovation and value adding projects for both surface and underground operations to the best advantage of the company and its stakeholders

Required Outputs 

Functional Outputs

• Conduct AEL value-adding projects to customers
• Develop blast designs,blast enhancement to new innovations and product conversions
• Monitor product performance, the accuracy of timing,stemming effectiveness, air blast and ground vibration levels and videography
• Determine required fragmentation and other blast aspects.
• Collect data and analyze and make recommendations for improvement
• Interpret blast design for safe and efficient blasting
• Communicate blast design data to a supervisor, customer, and subcontractor
• Manage closure of blasting issues or complaint through visiting site conduction analysis and writing report
• Identify potential hazards and risks associated with a poor blast design

General

• Excellent Technical Report writing,document findings and prepare presentations
• Coordinate business development
• Technical coaching and training
• Continuous professional development

Required Skills or Experience

• Diploma in a technical field (mining, geological, civil, surveying, etc.) plus 10 years extensive and deep field experince in explosive and mining industry

OR

• University degree in a technical field(mining, geological, civil, surveying etc) plus minimum of 6 years relevant experience

OR

• Masters’s graduate in a technical field plus 4 years relevant experience
• Explosive Engineers Certificate

Requirements

• Specific experience required
• Knowledge of both surface and underground mining ,under different conditions
• At least 5 years each underground and surface mining experience.
• Able to develop innovative blast designs for new products
• Comprehensive knowledge of products and applications across markets or specialist (technical expert) in specific markets
• Ability to draw on extensive and broad industry experience (Surface and Underground to apply diversified solutions and techniques to complex situations and as needed
• Seasoned knowledge of mine methods, mine design, production scheduling and equipment selection
• Experience in both bulk and selective mining methods
• Ability to analyze technical data and blast results for identification of market trends
• Rely on first principle, fundamental engineering theory and broad industry knowledge to ensure practical solutions.
• Familiar with AEL Technical software
