Job Description

Purpose

• We seek the services of a result oriented person to oversee the company’s fund management operations to ensure growth in Asset Under management and profitability. The successful candidate will lead the Fund management team and report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage the Fund Management and Pensions business of the company
• Direct and supervise activities of the fund management department providing guidance and motivation to drive revenue generation and maximum performance of the department
• Develop and implement a comprehensive growth strategy for the fund management business focused on both client acquisition and asset under management
• Manage the marketing, selling and creating awareness of the company’s products and services
• Ensure active management of funds under management in compliance with regulatory and company policies and procedures
• Lead client meetings, pitches and presentations and provide proposals
• Build and actively manage the relationship with new and existing clients, regulators and other partners
• Ensure excellent service delivery to clients
• Support planning and development of capacity expansion and development of new products and services areas
• Develop entry-level staff into valuable personnel
• Assist with any other duties as and when required

Qualifications

• Must possess 8 to 10 years relevant experience in fund and pensions management with a minimum of 5 years in a senior management role
• Minimum of First Degree or equivalent in Finance, economics, investment, statistics or other relevant fields. A Master’s degree in the above courses will be an added advantage
• GSE Securities industry certificate is a requirement
• A professional qualification will be an added advantage
• Demonstrable previous success in fund management and investment banking

Key Skills & Competence

• Demonstrate good knowledge of the fund management industry in Ghana, laws and regulations
• Must have knowledge of investment instruments particularly fixed income instruments such as Bonds
• Possess global market knowledge, good business understanding, problem-solving skills and business development and sales skills
• Ability to monitor and analyze investment portfolios and recommend changes when necessary
• Excellent interpersonal, communication skills and ability to develop and maintain relationships
• Ability to take charge and show leadership quantities
• Decisive yet supportive of distributed decision making not afraid to make tough decisions
• Demonstrate high computer literacy skills
