Job Title: Fund Manager
Details
The Fund Manager reports to the Board of the Firm and is responsible for the profit and loss responsibility of the Microfinance Fund and its investment portfolio under his management. Other responsibilities include:
Investment Management:
- Investment selection in accordance with policies and guidelines established by the Fund and its Advisory Board.
- Sourcing, originating and structuring of transactions
- Drafting risk-focused finance reports
- legal implementation and disbursement.
- On-going monitoring and review of investments for adherence to objectives and guidelines
- Managing exits from investments
- Quarterly performance reporting
- Annual portfolio review and discussion of investments with the Advisory Board
- Participation in Board and Investment Committee meetings
Other:
- General marketing of the firm’s products and services
- Building fruitful relationships with deal sourcing networks such as banks, consultants, donors, business associations etc
- Developing and maintaining a healthy relationship with existing clients, in order to generate repeat and/or networked business opportunities
- Communicating effectively with internal and external customers/stakeholders
- Negotiating partnership agreements and monitoring of partners
- Development of Human Resource
- Provision of leadership to increase returns and market dominance
Minimum Requirements
Professional Qualification –
- A Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Social Science or a related field with Professional Certification in Accounting or Finance a plus
- At least 5 years’ experience in Micro and SME Finance/Credit
- At least 5 years’ experience in a Senior Management role.
- Experience in Microfinance/Non-Bank Financing a plus.

Job Title: Business Development Officer
The Business Development Officer works in collaboration with the Investment Manager under the supervision of the Fund Manager. The BDO is the primary dealmaker and provider of Business Development Assistance (BDA) to investee SMEs and should have proven hands-on experience in business development and financial transaction work, especially in the areas of business analysis & diagnostics, risk analysis and deal structuring for SMEs. The BDO also requires skills in client relationship management, consulting, business turn-around, marketing, accounting and credit management.
In addition to actual investment and business development experience, the BDO at least must have a good working knowledge of Ghana based financial customs and norms and should have community relationship management skills.
The Responsibilities of the BDO Include:
- Â Sourcing, originating and structuring transactions
- Â Delivering initial BDA and assisting clients draft bankable business plans or developing bankable business plans
- Â Drafting risk-focused finance reports
- Â Managing legal implementation and disbursement.

- Â Communicating effectively with internal and external customers/stakeholders
- Â Building fruitful relationships with deal sourcing networks such as banks, consultants, donors, business associations and relevant governmental institutions
- Â Developing and maintaining a healthy relationship with existing clients, in order to generate repeat and/or networked business opportunities
- Â Any other duties as assigned by the Investment Manager
Minimum Requirements
Professional Qualification –
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration; Finance; Accounting; Statistics; Mathematics; Entrepreneurship; Agribusiness/Agriculture; Industrial Engineering; Supply Chain Management or Economics with an MBA preferable
- At least 3 years’ experience in Business Development and or SME Finance/Credit
- Experience in an Agro-processing or Manufacturing company a plus.
- Completion of the Ghana Stock Exchange training courses a plus.
