ICT SERVICES DIRECTORATE
- Position – Systems Administrator
Duties and Responsibilities
The primary role of the Systems Administrator is to ensure that
- All the information systems are properly installed, configured and backed -up regularly
- It is the responsibility of the Systems Administrator to ensure that appropriate security update and patches are applied to the servers.
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
- Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
- The Systems Administrator will work with the Network Administrator to ensure that the Information Systems are integrated to each other and there is information interchange from one system to another in a secured manner.
- Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a two- year M.Sc. In ICT or other relevant equivalent qualification
- At least three (3) years working experience in an IT role in a Tertiary Educational institution
Skills and Competencies
- Experience with systems in educational databases/systems; especially school/student records systems

Duties and responsibilities
- Provides official student record documentation via forms, letters, transcripts and other communications
- Reviews, audits and prepares degree audit and diploma order
- Performs general office duties such as typing, operating office machines, and filing
- Establishes and maintains academic files within the student information system
- Ensures record integrity of student files by ensuring proper documentation and authorization to fulfil requests
- Ensures that the electronic file as well as the student information system are in alignment and accurate
- Serves as liaison for projects and cross-functional department needs

- Prepare and maintain a variety of records, reports and files. Collect, compile, verify and record information for the preparation of reports.
- Assist in determining data processing needs for Admissions and Records; provide technical guidance concerning admissions and records computer programs and procedures; enter a variety of data into the computer to update student information; compile information, generate reports and create computer files as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Network Engineer will be responsible for:
- Establishing networking environment by designing networking systems, directing and system installation configuration; defining documenting, and enforcing system standards
- Maximizing networking performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization
- Seeing network system by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access

Qualifications

DIRECTORATE OF SECURITY SERVICES
i. Position- Director of Security Services
The Director of Security Services is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor or his representative for promoting a safe environment for teaching and learning on all campuses through the following means:
- Assisting in the formulation of security policies based on situational analysis.
- Gather intelligence from staff and students fronts.
- Ensure total internal security control and order.
- Assisting in determining appropriate manpower levels and logistics requirements of the Security Directorate.
- Developing and implementing adequate training programmes for the security personnel to ensure they are always fit for duty.
- Developing adequate systems and procedures for the prevention and detection of crime within the University.
- Planning and coordinating with external security agencies to ensure protection of employees, families, students and property of the University.

UNIVERSITY LIBRARY
a. Position: Â Assistant Librarian, Acquisition and Cataloguing
Position Summary:
You will perform a variety of technical and administrative tasks to support the purchase of library educational materials, including books, videos, films, electronic and other audiovisual media. Interpersonal contacts may extend to library staff, reference librarians, faculty and vendors. You as the Cataloger would do original and copy cataloging based on current standards, database maintenance, authority control, and provide training and inventory support for other UEW libraries and sections within. You would also resolve cataloging problems and aid in the maintenance of the online catalogue. You would provide advice, offer demonstrations, and provide information on best practice and up-to-date policies in cataloguing. You would do this by keeping up-to-date on relevant programs and services that enhance the ability of library staff to provide quality information to patrons in an effective and efficient manner
Essential Duties and Responsibilities are to:
- Source, acquire library materials.
- Accession and physically process new library materials.
- Supervise and manage all activities in ordering and receiving new materials via firm order and/or approval plan.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with book vendors.
- Inform Reference Librarians of changes to existing collections.
- Perform original (including complex) and copy cataloging of all formats of library materials to facilitate their identification, access, and use.
- Ensure that special requests are acquired and processed in an efficient and timely manner.
- Ensure that routines and workflow are functioning efficiently and are integrated with routines in other areas.
- Interpret and apply Library of Congress subject headings, the AACR2, RDA, and the Online Computer Library Center (OCLC) manuals in cataloging and classifying library materials.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of new technologies, systems and products to support acquisitions and cataloguing.
- Maintain the integrity of the integrated library system through authority file control Minimum

- A two-year MA/ MSc. degree in Library or Information Science or any other related field from a reputable university.
- At least 10 years of work experience in Acquisition and Cataloguing.
- Thorough knowledge of contemporary bibliographic-maintenance standards and practice, including the Anglo-American cataloging rules (AACR2), RDA, Library of Congress subject headings, OCLC/MARC records, and library automation.
- Good knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration as applied to a major library service.
- Comprehensive skills with office software including word processing and spreadsheets

b. Position: Assistant Librarian, Information and Readers’ Services.
Position Summary:
The Information and Readers’ Services librarian is a member of the Library Leadership Team. You would assist readers to find the right book. You would have to possess the skills of searching for information whether its minutia or metaphysical. You would set the standard of excellence in reference service for your team and for the whole library. You would take pride in developing our collection of materials to meet the information and reading needs of the University community. You must exhibit excellent communication skills, problem-solving skills and judgment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities are to:
- Understand principles of reference service and reader’s advisory essential.
- Understand collection development practices and policies.
- Plan, implement and manage complex projects.
- Pay attention to detail.
- Effectively use Internet and database search strategies.

c. Position: Assistant Librarian, Electronic Resources & Institutional Repositories
Position Summary:
The University Library seeks a skilled, service-oriented, and forward thinking Electronic Resources Librarian to manage and support access to the University’s collection of licensed electronic resources. Reporting to the University Librarian, the Electronic Resources Librarian is responsible for performing a range of tasks that support the discovery and delivery of electronic resources. Core duties include activating and managing electronic resources, licensing, and vendor information, configuring and testing resources for remote access, investigating and troubleshooting technical and subscription-related access problems, and providing expert support to library users and staff. The Electronic Resources Librarian is also responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting data related to the usage of electronic resources in order to guide collection development decisions, library instruction, reference services, and web-based information delivery. Working collaboratively with librarians, technical staff, and vendors, the Electronic Resources Librarian helps develop and implement user-centered strategies to ensure convenient, seamless, and uninterrupted access to electronic resources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities are to:
- Manage access to a wide range of electronic resources, including databases, e-journals, e-books, online reference sources and streaming media.
- Investigate and troubleshoot access issues involving electronic resources and provide expert support to library users.
- Manage communication with library users and staff regarding trials, newly acquired resources, platform changes, service disruptions, and cancellations.
- Collect, analyze, and report data regarding usage of electronic resources to inform library decision-making.
- Develop and deliver training programs for staff and users in the use of the Library’s e-Resources and the Internet.
- Manage e-Resources staff including setting assignments, training and evaluating job performance.
- Manage the library’s social media accounts.
- Provide technical support to resolve access issues for library e-resources
- Communicate with vendors, IT, users, CARLIGH and library staff regarding e-resource technical issues.
- Manage the daily operations of the IR, including adding and editing content, training other library faculty and staff on use and workflows, assessing functionality of the IR, and recommending changes for continuous quality improvement.
- Participate actively as a library liaison and teach workshops for faculty, departments, and research units.
- Coordinate and provide training in support of the IR and scholarly communication on campus.

- Demonstrated experience with electronic resource management during all stages of the lifecycle, including acquisition, implementation, support, and evaluation.

RADIO WINDY BAY
Position – Station Manager, Assistant Registrar Level – UEW Windy Bay
Duties and Responsibilities:Â The Station Manager is:
- Head of the Station and sees to the Management of  Radio Windy Bay as well as the welfare of the staff
- Ultimately responsible for the effective day-to-day operations and administration of the Station.
- Recommends the hiring of relevant staff to appropriate authorities.
- Responsible for planning, organizing, supervising, coordinating, researching, reporting budgeting, fundraising and monitoring of all activities and programmes of the Station.
- In-charge of materials and resources of the Station.
- Representative of the Station at Boards and Committees
- He/She is the Executive Producer of the Station, thus enforces guidelines and regulations governing the operations of the Station.
- Liaison between the Station and the University Management, Corporate Bodies and the general public.
- Responsible for any other duties that the Board and the University Management may assign.
- Submits quarterly and annual reports to his Supervisor and the University Management Board.
 Qualifications
- Holder of Master of Philosophy in Communications and Media Studies with specialization in Broadcast Journalism
- Must have at least 8 years continuous working experience in the broadcasting or radio industry
- Certificates in a relevant professional field of study will be an advantage
- Membership of the relevant Professional body is an advantage
- Must have the capacity to work extra hours and must be an excellent team player
- Excellent written and oral skills in the English language
