Applicants with the following certificates are eligible to apply:
Applicants with Bachelor of Technology (B-TECH), Bachelor of Art (BA), BA Communication Design/BFA/BA   in Printing, Publishing Studies, Graphic Design or related Visual/Creative Art certificates, must possess a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division) from an accredited tertiary institution.
Holders of equivalent first degree qualifications in related Visual/Creative Art from recognized academic or professional institutions in and or outside Ghana.

Applicants must possess, at least, HND 2nd Class (Lower Division) certificate in Graphic Design, Sculpture, Ceramics and Painting, Textiles and Fashion Design & Technology from any recognized University/Polytechnic. Candidates with equivalent qualifications/certificates can seek clarification from the Admissions Office.

SSSCE/WASSCE APPLICANTS
SSSCE Candidates: Applicants must have six (6) passes (A-D) in all subjects, including English Language and Mathematics and, at least, three (3) passes in elective subjects (Ceramics, Graphic Design, Bead Making, Basketry, Leatherworks, Clothing & Textiles, Sculpture, Picture Making, Jewelry, Woodwork, Metalwork and General Knowledge in Art) relevant to applicant’s area of specialization.

WASSCE Candidates: Applicants must have six (6) passes (A1-D7) in all subjects, including English Language and Mathematics and must possess a minimum of C6 in any three (3) of the following (Ceramics, Graphic Design, Bead Making, Basketry, Leatherworks, Clothing & Textiles, Sculpture, Picture Making, Jewelry, Woodwork, Metalwork and General Knowledge in Art) relevant to the area of specialization.

ADVANCE PAINTING AND DECORATION CERTIFICATE APPLICANTS
Applicants with Advanced P&D with Four (4) SSSCE/WASSCE certificate with passes in English Language and Mathematics can apply for any of the HND programmes under Faculty of Applied Arts and Technology (FAAT).

INTERMEDIATE CERTIFICATE IN PAINTING AND DECORATION (P&D)
Intermediate P&D Certificate holders with passes in English Language and Mathematics and any three (3) Arts electives with aggregate not exceeding 28 can also apply for any of the HND programmes.

NABPTEX AND TEU CERTIFICATE II
NABPTEX and TEU Certificate II applicants with passes in English Language and Mathematics can apply for any of the HND programmes under Faculty of Applied Arts and Technology (FAAT).

DIPLOMA OF TECHNOLOGY PROGRAMMES (REGULAR)
Diploma of Technology in Arts and Design

SUMMARY OF ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
(i)    SSSCE/WASSCE APPLICANTS
SSSCE Candidates: Applicants must have Five (5) passes (A-E) in all subjects, including English Language and Mathematics in (Ceramics, Graphic Design, Bead Making, Basketry, Leatherworks, Clothing & Textiles, Sculpture, Picture Making, Jewelry, Woodwork, Metalwork and General Knowledge in Art) relevant to applicant’s area of specialization.

WASSCE Candidates: Applicants must have Five (5) passes (A1-E8) in all subjects, including English Language and Mathematics in (Ceramics, Graphic Design, Bead Making, Basketry, Leatherworks, Clothing & Textiles, Sculpture, Picture Making, Jewelry, Woodwork, Metalwork and General Knowledge in Art) relevant to the area of specialization.

(IV)    DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES (REGULAR)     
Diploma in Fashion Design and Technology
Diploma in Sculpture Technology
Diploma in Fashion Design and Technology
A pass or better in Intermediate dressmaking/fashion Certificate Examination.
A pass in Two (2) Core and Two (2) elective in SSSCE/WASSCE or its equivalent.
A pass in certificate course of NVTI or its equivalence in addition to a pass in BECE with one year working experience.
A recognized equivalence in allied subjects and qualifications as stated above.

Diploma in Sculpture Technology
Four (4) SSSCE/WASSCE passes compromising three (3) core subjects including English and Mathematics plus Two (2) Elective subjects.
Four (4) GCE ‘O’ Level including English and Mathematics.
A pass in English and Mathematics plus Intermediate Technician Part 1 in (Block Work, Woodwork, Metal Fabrication, Leatherwork).
A mature applicant not below 25 years must provide documentary evidence of work experience and pass entrance examination.

(V)    CERTIFICATE PROGRAMMES

Applicants should provide evidence of at least Three (3) years Artisanship in any one or more of the following allied trades of fashion: (Dressmaking, Tailoring, Batik, Tie and Dye, Embroidery, Footwear, Bags/Cases, Hats, Jewelry, Beauty Culture, Upholsteries, Cosmetics) plus proficiency in English language.
Applicant must pass selection interview.

Certificate in Ceramics  (One Year)

SSSCE/WASSCE: Applicants must have passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
Applicants with NVTI Grade I and II and, at least, with relevant practical experience are also eligible to apply.

(V)    ONE YEAR PRELIMINARY PROGRAMME IN STATISTICS    
The above-named programme has been designed to provide opportunity to applicants who do not meet the requirement for HND Statistics to pursue a one-year preliminary Course.  Successful candidates after the Programmes can apply directly for the HND Statistics programmes offered in the University.

ACCESS PROGRAMME FOR TECHNICAL/VOCATIONAL APPLICANTS
The above-named programme has been designed to provide opportunity to students with Technical/Vocational and science educational background to pursue a one-year Access Course in English Language, Mathematics and Science.

Applicants should possess a minimum qualification of G.E.S. Technical Exams Unit’s Certificate /Intermediate or its equivalent.
SSSCE/WASSCE Science students with passes are eligible to apply.

Candidates with Construction Technicians Certificate (CTC) must have at least Credits in all Four (4) major components at CTC Part II (Old Scheme)/ CTC Part III (New Scheme) including passes in all project works and with Credits in English and Mathematics.

SSSCE Candidates: Applicants must have obtained six (6) passes (A-D) in all subjects, including English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science and, at least, three (3) elective passes in Physics, Engineering Science, Chemistry, Woodwork, Technical Drawing or Agricultural Science, History, Geography, Economics, Government, Commerce and Literature in English relevant to their area of specialization.

WASSCE Candidates: Applicants must have obtained six (6) passes (A1-D7) in all subjects, including English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science and must possess a minimum of C6 in any three (3) elective passes in Physics, Engineering Science, Chemistry, Woodwork, Technical Drawing or Agricultural Science, History, Geography, Economics, Government, Commerce and Literature in English relevant to the area of specialization.

GCE Applicants must have two (2) GCE ‘A’ Level passes including Mathematics and in addition candidates must have five (5) GCE ‘O’ level passes including English Language and Mathematics.

GCE Applicants must have five (5) GCE ‘O’ level passes including English Language and Mathematics.
NVTI Applicants with certificates in Draughtmanship must also have a proof of working experience.

INTERMEDIATE CRAFT CERTIFICATE IN PLUMBING APPLICANTS

Applicants with Intermediate Craft Certificate in Plumbing seeking admission to pursue HND Plumbing and Gas Technology must have in addition SSSCE/WASSCE passes in English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science.

(IV)    TECHNICAL AND VOCATIONAL EDUCATIONAL TRAINING (TVET) PROGRAMME   
Construction Technician Course (CTC) (Part I and II) (1year)

Construction Technician Certificate (CTC I)
Applicants should have General Course in Construction Certificate (GCC) or any four (4) SSSCE/WASSCE passes, including English Language and Mathematics.
Construction Technician Certificate (CTC II)
Applicants must have CTC I in this field of study

F.  MATURE APPLICANTS

Mature applicants into all HND programmes must satisfy the following:
Candidates must be 25 years of age at the time of the submission of the application form and must pass a mature entrance examination. The date for the entrance examinations will communicated to qualified applicants.

SPECIAL ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

Applicants with Technician I or II certificates who seek to enroll with the Faculty of Engineering but are without English Language and Mathematics must also pass English Language and Mathematics Examinations to be administered by the University before gaining admission.

Stenography and Senior Stenography holders without English Language and Mathematics must also pass English Language and Mathematics Examinations to be administered by the University before gaining admission.

General Business Certificate (GBC) holders without English Language and Mathematics must also pass English Language and Mathematics Examinations to be administered by the University before gaining admission.

All special entrance applicants in addition must pass a written examination in the relevant subject area. Date for entrance exams will be communicated to qualified applicants.

G.    CENTRE FOR LANGUAGES AND LIBERAL STUDIES
(I)   DIPLOMA OF TECHNOLOGY IN MEDIA AND COMMUNICATION STUDIES

The programme is targeted at Communications Managers, Journalist, Bloggers, Content Managers of Social Media platforms, Public Relations Practitioners, Radio Presenters, DJs and Announcers among others.

SUMMARY OF ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

SSSCE/WASSCE APPLICANTS        

SSSCE applicants with Five (5) passes (A-E) and WASSCE applicants with five (5) passes (A1-E8) in all subjects, including English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science and relevant electives OR area of specialization.
Those with relevant experience in the media or communication industry are also eligible to apply.

(II)    CERTIFICATE IN PROFICIENCY IN ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE (SIX MONTHS)

This course is designed for Ghanaians and foreign nationals (French, German, Spanish etc) with little or no knowledge of the English Language.

The programme to be run jointly by University of Education-Winneba (UEW) and Takoradi Technical University (TTU) on TTU campus is targeted and designed for people interested in the teaching profession. It is designed to equip prospective students with the requisite skills and knowledge needed to be a professional teacher. Graduates after the programme can teach in any Senior High School, Technical & Vocational Schools. The Certificate will be awarded by UEW.
