Scholarship Description:

At Soka University of America, there are grants and scholarships available for students to assist with the costs of their education. These awards are provided by the university and do not require repayment. The grants and scholarships can be based on merit or financial need and have specific criteria and terms for renewal.

This year, all first-year students at Soka University have been fortunate enough to receive at least one institutional grant or scholarship. In addition, all continuing students who were eligible for need-based financial assistance have received a need-based scholarship or grant. Students can combine multiple institutional scholarships to cover expenses up to the cost of attendance. These scholarships are open to all students who qualify, including domestic, international, and Dreamers.

Eligibility Criteria:

The Soka Opportunity Grant is SUA’s need-based grant program and is awarded to students who qualify based on their application for financial aid. The Soka Opportunity Grant is a form of need-based financial aid and does not need to be repaid. Students who submit an application for financial aid are automatically considered for the Soka Opportunity Grant and must submit an application for financial aid each academic year to be considered.

The Soka Opportunity Grant may not exceed tuition each academic year and students are eligible for a maximum of 8 semesters of eligibility.
