Sensitization Seminar for Junior High Schools in Ghana set for September 29
Sensitization Seminar for Junior High Schools in Ghana set for September 29.
Education is the process which takes place at learning center where one is giving knowledge and the other receives it.
The receiver in order to prove he or she understands the knowledge gained ,is expected to sit, write and pass an examination at the Basic, Pre-tertiary and the Tertiary levels. However, not all candidates are able to attain the needed grades to push to the next level of the academic ladder. Examination failure is “One in which a candidate fails to attain a set standard of performance in a given evaluation exercise such as test, an examination or series of continuous assessments”. Some people attribute examination failures to the candidates whereas others also attribute it to teachers. To erase some erroneous impressions about the determinants of failures in examinations, some students from the Department of Education And Human Resource Studies, College Of Education, University Of Ghana, Legon will be organizing a seminar for Junior High School final year students (BECE Candidates) and Teachers to sensitize them on the issue of the Causes, Effects and provide Solutions to Examination Failures in schools starting from selected districts in the Greater Accra Region with focus on the Ga Central Municipal Assembly and then replicate it in other districts across the country.
