It is announced for the attention of the general public that the Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (SDD-UBIDS), a Public Tertiary Education Institution established by an Act of Parliament SDD-UBIDS Act 2019 (Act 1001), located in the Upper West Regional Capital, Wa, Ghana, is inviting qualified students to apply for admission into Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes for the 2024/2025 Academic Year.

Entry Requirements for Undergraduate Programmes
WASSCE or SSSCE holders who seek to apply for admission into our Undergraduate Programmes must have at least C6 or D in all their three Core and Elective subjects. Candidates should therefore possess, at least, credit passes in the following:
- Three core subjects (English Language, Mathematics (core) and Integrated Science/ Social Studies.
- Any three elective subjects such as Economics, Geography, Government, History, Literature in English, Christian Religious Studies, Cost Accounting, Business Management, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry among others
- Should have an aggregate score of 36 or better of the best six subjects (three core and three elective)
- For non–science students, a grade in Social Studies maybe used in place of the grade in Integrated Science in the calculation of their aggregates if the Social Studies grade is better than the grade in Integrated Science. This is however on condition that the candidate has at least a pass in Integrated Science.
- For Science students, however, Social Studies (core) does not replace Integrated Science (core) in the calculation of candidates’ aggregates.
Mature applicants
- Candidates must be at least 25 years of age and must show documentary evidence.
- In addition, must have any of the following:
- Five G.C.E. “O” Level subjects including English Language, Mathematics and General Science, and
- SSSCE/WASSCE, passes in core English Language, Mathematics and/Integrated Science/Social Studies as well as two elective science subjects including Mathematics (Elective)
- HND and other Diploma applicants seeking admission into Degree programmes should possess at least a:
- Second Class Lower or better in related programmes, who may be admitted into Level 200.
- Third Class or pass shall be considered for admission into Level 100.
- Must pass a competitive examination and/or selection interview to be conducted by the University.

Entry Requirements for Diploma Programmes
To be admitted into a diploma programme, three credits passes in the applicant’s area of specialization (elective subjects) and at least two passes (D7, D or better) in English Language and Mathematics in WASSCE/SSSCE are required. Any candidate without a pass in English Language, Mathematics (core) or both should not apply for the Diploma programmes.
Entry Requirements for Postgraduate Programmes
A candidate seeking admission to pursue any of our PhD Programmes must:
- Have an MPhil/MSc./MA Degree in the relevant field from a recognized University
- Submit an official Transcript of academic records, certificates and other relevant documents.
- Include a short proposal on the applicant’s research interest.
- Must pass a selection interview to be conducted by the University.
Applicants who want to pursue our MPhil/MSc. Programmes must also:
- Have obtained a good first degree, at least second Class Lower, in the relevant field of study from a recognized University or Tertiary Institution.
- Submit an official Transcript of academic records and other relevant documents.
- Include a short proposal on the applicant’s research interest.
- Must pass a selection interview to be conducted by the University.
Applicants seeking admission to Postgraduate Diploma programmesmust have:
- A good first degree in the applicants’ discipline not below Second Lower Class from a recognized university
How to Apply for SDD-UBIDS Admission
Mode of Application for Domestic (Ghanaian) Applicants
All Ghanaian applicants for the 2024/2025 Academic Year admissions are required to use the UBIDS Online Admissions Portal. The procedure for the online application process is as follows:
- Make a payment of GH¢ 120.00 (One Hundred and Twenty Ghana Cedis) for the UBIDS E-Voucher for undergraduate programmes, GH¢180.00 (One Hundred and Eighty Ghana cedis) for Postgraduate Regular and Sandwich programmes or GH205.00 (Two Hundred and Five Ghana cedis) for Weekend Programmes at any Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB), Agricultural Development Bank (ADB), Stanbic Bank or Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG) branches throughout the country or through mobile money service by dialing *887*18# or *887*9# To All Networks.
- The E-Voucher contains the PIN and Serial Number required in completing the online form.

Visit UBIDS online Admissions Portal with a MasterCard or Visa to make an online payment of GH¢120.00 (One Hundred Twenty Ghana Cedis) for undergraduate programmes, GH¢180.00 (One Hundred and Eighty Ghana cedis) for Postgraduate Regular and Sandwich Programmes or GH205 (Two Hundred and Five Ghana cedis) for Weekend MBA Programmes. - Access the online form by visiting our online admissions portal at https://mis.ubids.edu.gh/ soon after payment.
- In completing the online form, students will be required to upload their most recent passport size photographs (white background with both ears showing and without shadow in the background not more than 500KB) and relevant certificates
- A completed form is not considered until it is submitted.
- Applicants are advised to check thoroughly all details entered before finally submitting their online applications. A form, once submitted, can only be viewed, but cannot be edited.
- Candidates are strongly advised to visit any Ghana Post EMS Office in the Country for assistance towards the return of the application documents (see i). Applicants are advised not to post the forms themselves. They should seek the advice and services of Ghana Post EMS.
- Applicants must print out application summary; attach results slips, certificates and all other relevant documents. These documents should be submitted in triplicates (three copies each) to the Senior Assistant Registrar (Academic Affairs Section) through the Ghana Post EMS Office as indicated in (iv) above.

SPECIFICATIONS FOR ADMISSION PICTURE
a. The intended admission Picture must be taken on a white background with both ears showing and without shadow in the background.
b. For religious purpose, scarfs are allowed but both ears must be exposed in the picture.
c. Wearing of glasses/shades are not allowed, except for medical purpose, clear glasses revealing the eyes are permitted.
d. The Picture should have a dimension of 300 x 300 pixels (1 x 1 inch), resolution of 300, JPEG file format and size not more than 500 kilobytes.
