How to Prepare for OHCS Graduates Entrance Exams
Maybe you’ve been wondering how to prepare for the forthcoming Civil Service graduate entrance examination, well the good news is that the portal is open for registered applicants to practice.
For applicants who are yet to make payments and register, you can follow the procedures below to register.

To participate in the Examination, applicants are required to make a ONE-TIME NON-REFUNDABLE payment of GH¢ 50.00 as examination fees. Service charges from your network or the service provider applies.
PAYMENTS
Payments can be made through the following methods;
1. Online Payment
Payments can be made through Mobile Money on the OHCS examination portal on YOUR PREFERRED DAY of examination and follow the examination procedures below;
EXAMINATION PROCEDURE
On the OHCS examination portal, candidates are required to confirm their payment by following the procedure below;
a. Select “Sign In”
b. Login with your credentials
c. Under the All Exam category, Click “Take Exam”
d. Click “BUY NOW” and follow Mobile Money Payment process
Mobile Money Payment Process
1. Click “Mobile Money”
2. Select service provider (MTN, Tigo, Airtel, Vodafone)
3. Input Mobile Money number
4. Click “Submit”
5. Authorise payment on your mobile device
6. Continue process on your computer device
7. Click “Complete”
Kindly read the terms and conditions for the examination and “Tick” check box at the button of the page to accept terms and conditions.
NOTE
In case of interruptions during Step “5” of the mobile money payments procedure, you may have to check the approval system of your mobile network, and activate your pending transactions using (AirtelTigo Money – *110#, MTN – *170#, Vodafone – *110#)
OR
2. GCB Bank Payment
a. Visit any GCB Bank Branch Nation-wide and make payments using the Account Name Office of the Head of the Civil Service to obtain an account activation PIN.
b. On your PREFERRED DAY of examination, follow the Activation steps below
i. Logon to www.ohcs.gov.gh
ii. Click on “Applications”
iii. Select “Examinations”
iv. Sign in with the credentials provided by OHCS
v. Under the All Exam category, Click “Take Exam”
vi. Select “Buy Now”
vii. Enter Bank Pin and click “Apply”
Further instructions on the Civil Service Online Graduate Entrance Examination can be accessed on the “Examinations” portal.
OHCS Graduate Examination Structure
Timing
The time allotted to the examinations is forty (40) minutes. Candidates are to note that, after forty (40) minutes the examination will end automatically and your scripts submitted.
Examination Structure
The examination consists of thirty (30) multiple-choice questions made up of a mixture of English Grammar and Critical reasoning.
Candidates are to note that, payment for the examination and the sitting are done once.
Examination Requirement
Candidates are required to use the following to access the Online Examination;
- A desktop / laptop computer with an Internet Browser (i.e. Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome or Safari)
- Stable Internet access for the duration of the examination is needed.
Examination Pass Mark
1. Candidates who scored the required pass mark of 70% (21/30) and above have been scheduled for an interview and are required to bring along ORIGINALS of the following Documents;
- Academic Certificates
- National Service Certificate
- Birth Certificate
- Valid Photo National ID Card
- Affidavit (if you have had a change of Name)
The date of the interview will be communicated to you via text message. You may also visit www.ohcs.gov.gh for the interview schedule.
2. Candidates who scored between 60% and 69% (18/30 to 20/30) would be scheduled for a second round of written examination. The examination is scheduled will be communicated later.
Kindly note that the written examination is FREE and ONLY for Candidates who scored between 60% and 69%.
3. Candidates who scored between 0% and 59% were unsuccessful.
