Opoku Ware School, often referred to as OWASS, is a senior high school for boys in the Ashanti region of Ghana. It was established in 1952, as one of the five Catholic schools in Ghana that year. The school was named after Asante King Opoku Ware I. The students are known collectively as Akatakyie, an Asante word meaning “conquering heroes”. It is located in Fankyenebra, near Santasi, along the Kumasi-Obuasi road.
Job Description
Job Title: Alumni Office Manager
Main Responsibilities
• Draft the annual programs/activities line up of the Association in consultation with the Executive Council and Opoku Ware School
• Generate weekly, monthly and annual statements on expenditure, dues and pledges redeemed for the executive council
• Manage relationship between Alumni, Opoku Ware School, vendors and service providers to ensure all items are invoiced, all deadlines are met and payments made on time.
• Liaise with the Executive Council and Opoku Ware School to ensure the association’s programmes are appropriately scheduled and organised so as not to conflict with the Opoku Ware School’s programme intended for the Alumni
• Plan and organise the Association’s programmes, meetings and events in consultation with Executive Council and appropriate staff of Opoku Ware School
• Manage the Association’s social media platforms and website
• Responsible for the dissemination of all information to the Alumni through phone calls, emails, sms and the Association’s social meid platforms subject to approval from NEC through the Secretary
• Ensure Alumni pay their annual dues and pledges on time
• Be available to collect Alumni dues and provide assistance to Alumni
• Record all office expenditure and manage budgets
• Provide and put together contents for the association’s newsletter and all activities
• Manage utilities, ensure prompt payment of bills and maintain payment records
• Ensure a professional environment on a day-to-day basis and
• Perform other duties as requested by the Executive Council which are associated with the Association and are in line with the Labour laws of the country
Qualification Required & Experience
• Minimum a Degree holder with a least 3 years work experience
• At least, 1 year work experience in Alumni relations
• Reliability, discretion and confidentiality
• Communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills
• Organizational and event management skills
• IT and budgeting skills
• Attention to detail, problem solving and initiative skills
• Leadership and ability to “make things happen”
