The National Inspectorate Board (NIB) is a newly–created agency of the Ministry of Education mandated by Parliament to provide an independent external evaluation of the quality and standards in basic and second cycle educational institutions in the country on a periodic basis. The NIB was established under the 2008 Education Act (Act 778) and consists of representatives of major education stakeholders, including the Universities of Education, the West African Examinations Council, the Association of Private Schools, the National Teaching Council, the Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, and the Religious Bodies (Christian and Muslim). The Executive Secretary of the Board is the Chief Inspector of Schools.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a First Degree with considerable subject teaching experience. This includes (retired) directors, lecturers, circuit supervisors, heads and teachers at the basic or second cycle levels of both public and private schools
• Should not be more than 70 years at the time of application

Scope of Work

• Serve on inspection panels led by Lead Inspectors of the NIB to carry out inspections of assigned schools
• Write and submit reports

Payment

• Team Inspectors will be paid for work done on submission of reports
