JUST IN: Teachers to lay down tools on October 28 over Arrears

Teachers will for the first time under the Nana Addo’s Presidency strike to demand what is due them as enshrined in the labour laws of Ghana.

Credible information gathered by GHstudents indicates that all members of the Coalition of Concerned Teachers (CCT) will on October 28,2017 law down their tools to demand for some monies due them by government.

Meanwhile, Members of the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) is expected to also join in the strike action.

The purpose of the supposed strike action is to register their displeasure to the governing body.

The teacher unions are accusing governmental of keeping mute on all forms of salary arrears owed teachers.

The teachers mentioned Transfer Grants, Motto and vehicle maintenance allowances, Yearly Incremental Credit and 3 Months Pay Policy as reasons why they were laying down their tools.

The teachers also mentioned the inability of government to pay teachers increment credit in September 2017,as one or their reasons to go on strike.

The above mentioned teacher Unions are expected to hold a press conference soon to cement their decision and create public awareness.
