We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: District Driver

Job Location: Tolon Office, Talon

Program: Empowerment for Life

Duration of Contract: 1 year and renewable on satisfactory performance

Job Summary:

The District Driver will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the office vehicle in the District. He/she will be responsible for ensuring that the vehicle is used by the procedures and policies of the program. Furthermore, he/she will work with two other Field Facilitators in the program district.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the E4L program vehicle professionally as directed by the District Coordinator.
  • Ensure that the vehicle is always roadworthy and insured.
  • Ensure the vehicle is regularly maintained.
  • Always keep the vehicle clean.

Qualifications:

At least the Senior Secondary School Certificate. A valid driver’s license (AC Preferable). Other professional licenses and training will be an added advantage. The applicant must be able to write simple reports clearly and able to complete basic records.

Experience:

At least five years’ experience in an NGO environment and driving cross-country vehicles. Familiar with the road network in Tolon will be an added advantage

Salary Expectation: Basic Salary of GHc 900.00 per month.

The Empowerment for Life program (E4L) is an integrated development program being implemented in five districts in the Northern Region by Ghana Developing Communities Association (GDCA) and YEFL-Ghana. GDCA and YEFL-Ghana have secured funding from Tzedek to expand the program to the Tolon District. The development objective of a strong civil society movement in Northern Ghana through the facilitation of CBO organizational capacity, technical capacity, and capacity to engage and undertake advocacy for change.

The extension of the program in Tolon started on 1st July 2019 and is due to end in December 2023. The program established an office in Toulon and needs to recruit a driver to augment the staff in the District. This position is for an initial period of 11 months, from August 1st to June 30th, 2021.
