We are recruiting to fill the following positions:

Contents

Job Title: Director of Pharmacy

Job Purpose

• To have overall responsibility for medicines management and ensure the maintenance of pharmaceutical standards through monitoring, teaching, research, policy development and implementation within the hospital

Functions

• Provide pharmaceutical advice to the Chief Executive Officer of the hospital
• Be responsible for the provision of good quality pharmaceutical activities within the hospital to the Chief Executive Officer
• Ensure the establishment and effective functioning of Medicines and Therapeutic committees in the hospitals
• Undertake any other responsibility assigned by the CEO

Qualifications

The person must be a Deputy Director of Pharmaceutical Services or a Senior Specialist grade and have the following:

• Be registered member of the pharmacists council in good standing
• Degree in Pharmacy plus a relevant postgraduate qualification (Membership or Fellowship) from the College of Pharmacists
• Have a minimum of 15 years working experience, 5 of which should be at the level of senior management
• Evidence of leadership and continuing professional development and training in management
• A broad knowledge base of the standards of pharmaceutical care and SOPs and guidelines

Duration of Contract

• Both positions are on 4-year contract basis subject to renewal upon satisfactory work and conduct. Therefore applicants should not be more than 56 years by August 01, 2020.

Job Title: Medical Director

Job Purpose

• Provide direction and advice in the efficient management and delivery of quality clinical care services, teaching, research and development within the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital

Functions

• Lead in the development of clinical care policies, guidelines, protocols and standards
• Take a pro-active role in the development and implementation of clinical services in the hospital in accordance with the National Policy
• Take a lead role in ensuring that high clinical standards are met in the provision of specialist medical services
• Take a lead role in maintaining skills and knowledge in the specialist fields through an agreed CPD plan, in line with the outcome of the annual appraisal process
• Lead and contribute to clinical supervision and promote the conduct of clinical research and development using the evidence-based approach
• Undertake any other responsibility assigned by the CEO

Qualifications

The Person must be a Specialist in any of the Medical disciplines and have the following:

• Be a registered member of the Medical and Dental Council in good standing
• Postgraduate qualification in Medical or surgical discipline (Membership or Fellowship), Preferably Consultant or Senior Specialist
• A minimum of 15 years working experience in Medicine, of which 5 years should have been in management at senior level
• Evidence of leadership and continuing professional development and training in health management
• Knowledge in coordinating and implementing research and development programmes

Duration of Contract

• Both positions are on 4-year contract basis subject to renewal upon satisfactory work and conduct. Therefore applicants should not be more than 56 years by August 01, 2020.
