We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (KNUST) invites applications from qualified persons for appointment as Lecturers and Professors.

Job Title: Director of Sports

Job Summary

• The Director shall be the Head of the Sports Directorate of the University and be responsible, under the Registrar, for providing leadership and direction in the management of sporting activities in the University. The Director is also responsible for the implementation of the University’s Sports Policies and Programmes.

Qualifications

The Applicant must:

• Possess postgraduate degree(s) in Sports Administration/Management or Physical Education or equivalent professional qualification;
• be competent in at least TWO established Sporting Disciplines;
• have served in the University or analogous institution for at least five (5) years as Deputy Director of Sports or a minimum of ten (10) years post-qualification experience in the public service.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT

• The Appointment, which is full-time shall be on TENURE.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

For each of the aforementioned positions, the person to be appointed must:

• be dynamic, self-motivated, and competent with proven ability;
• be a team player with good interpersonal and communication skills;
• have the ability to exercise sound judgment;
• exhibit high sense of initiative, and managerial and organizational skills;
• have an entrepreneurial drive and be business-oriented;

Job Title: Director, University Information Technology Services (UITS)

Job Summary

The Director shall be the Head of the University Information Technology Services (UITS) and shall have oversight responsibility for:

• the development of appropriate Softwares;
• the development of Network Infrastructure and Operations;
• IT Support Services for the University;
• Information Security & Technology Assurance; and
• System & Database Management Services.

Qualifications

The Applicant must:

• possess Basic Degree in computing or related field and relevant Postgraduate degree (s);
• have served in a University or analogous institution for at least 5 years as Deputy Director of IT or a minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience in a highly reputable and recognized practicing ICT firm, industry, or in the public service.
• Acquisition of relevant certificates in ICT-related courses would be an added advantage.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT

• The Appointment, which is full-time, shall be for FIVE (5) YEARS in the first instance, and may be subject to renewal for another term of up to five (5) years (after evaluation of performance) before attaining the compulsory statutory retirement age of SIXTY (60).

Job Title: Internal Auditor

Job Summary

• The Internal Auditor shall be the Head of the Internal Audit Department of the University.
• He/she shall, in accordance with the Internal Audit Agency Act, 2003 (Act 658) and in conformity with standards and procedures provided by the Agency set up under the said Act, carry out periodic internal audit of the University.
• He/she shall report administratively to the Vice-Chancellor and functionally to the Audit Committee in accordance with the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 912).

Qualifications

The Applicant must:

• possess both professional qualification and relevant postgraduate degree;
• be well versed in the use of various contemporary auditing and accounting software (ACL, IDEA, Team Mate+, iAuditor, etc);
• have served in a University or analogous institution for at least 5 years as Deputy Internal Auditor/Deputy Finance Officer OR a minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience in a highly reputable and recognized practicing Auditing/Accounting Firm, industry, commerce and/or public service.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT

Job Title: Director of Procurement

Job Summary

• The Director of Procurement shall be responsible, under the Registrar for providing leadership to the Procurement Office and for ensuring that the University’s procurement processes are in accordance with the Public Procurement Act, 2016 (Act 914 as amended) as well as other procurement policies and regulations instituted by the University.

Qualifications

The Applicant must:

• possess relevant postgraduate degree(s);
• be a member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) OR Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS);
• have served in a University or analogous institution for at least five (5) years as Senior Procurement Officer OR a minimum of eight (8) years post-qualification experience in industry or public service.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT

• The Appointment, which is full-time shall be on TENURE.
