We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced people to join our dedicated team as we become a modern, efficient operation with a long life of mine. The operation, located in the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality of the Western Region has a vacancy in the Prestea underground mine.

We are recruiting to fill the position below;

Job Title: Winder Engine Driver

Job Summary

The Winder Engine Driver is accountable for the safe movement of personnel, material, and equipment to and from underground to maximize availability in compliance with Minerals and Mining Regulations LI 2182, as well as our own high-standards and procedures for safe operations.

Accountabilities

• Ensure that the winding engine is operated safely in compliance with Minerals and Mining Health, Safety and Technical Regulations 2012 (L.I 2182)
• Conduct visual inspection on the equipment prior to the start of the shift
• Lower and raise men and material to and from the underground working area safely
• Hoist rock ore and waste materials from the underground
• Keep the winding engine equipment environmentally clean and safe
• Submit the daily report on the condition and operations of the winder
• Ensure clear and distinct signals are received and given to banksman/bellman and good communication to banksman/bellman
• Work with winder maintenance crew during planned maintenance on the winder
• Develop a strong working relationship with the electrical, mechanical, and shaft operations section

Qualifications

• Minimum of WASSCE
• Three (3) years’ experience as Winder Driver
• Winder Driver Certificate of Competency
• Full knowledge of Minerals, Mining Health, Safety, and Technical Regulations
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to evaluate information to solve complex problems
• Communicate technical information effectively
• Attention to detail and understanding of cause and effect in complex systems.
