The underground mining operation will be fully mechanized, designed to produce up to an average maximum of 5,000 t/day of ore mined.

ROLE PURPOSE AND CONTEXT
The purpose of this role is to ensure the effective safeguarding of the Company’s assets.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Prevent unauthorized entry and control authorized entries at access control points by enforcing the specific access system applied for controlling the entry and exit of people and materials (clocking & searching)
- Check and control the arrival and departure of vehicles into a security area by checking access documentation (waybills/ delivery notes etc.)
- Confront suspicious persons and, if necessary, search/arrest them.
- Report incidents to his/her Supervisor
- Inform visitors and employees with regards to the location of offices, access control procedures
- Attend disciplinary hearings and court cases in the capacity of complainant or witness
- Ensure that applicable policies and procedures are adhered to at all times
- Record new cases and/or incidents in the daily occurrence book
- Ensure that the security control document is filed
- Record exhibits such as recovered material in the occurrence register for future use in departmental disciplinary hearings or court cases
- Compile relevant information of assets/incidents in a disciplinary case docket including a complete written statement where applicable and hands over docket to supervisor
- Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle
- Observe the movement of people and equipment
- React to abnormal / suspicious conditions and report to Supervisor
- Identify hazards / risks that might cause a loss to the company and act accordingly to rectify the situation
- Identify and report all Safety and Health hazards.
- Adhere to Safety and Health regulations within the workplace with a view of Zero Tolerance.
- Execute work in a safe manner.
Qualification
- Diploma, Senior High School or equivalent.
Experience
- Entry-level
- At least one (1) year of security-related experience will be an advantage
- Experience and skilled knowledge in investigations will be an advantage
