- Visit the Amex credit card application status portal: https://online.americanexpress.com/eaol/statusCheckAction.do
- Provide your social security number and home ZIP code.
- Thereafter, click on “Check Application” to access your card status.
You will be redirected to a page listing the status of any Amex credit card applications. You’ll see things like “approved,” “denied,” “in progress” or “cancelled.” There’s also a helpful “next step” box beside the status that will guide you through what to do after checking.
A status showing “in progress” may indicate how long you can expect to wait which could be between a few days to over a week.
