2019 WASSCE (PC) Sensitization Programme Ends Successfully

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has successfully completed the 2019 WASSCE (PC) sensitization programme for candidates across the country.  The sensitization programme which is an annual event seeks to educate candidates on examination malpractice and its impact on them as candidates, on their families and the nation at large.

The issue of examination malpractice has become a national canker which is gradually destroying the development of the nation. Statistics indicate that even though there was a reduction in examination malpractice in the year 2018, some candidates are yet to comply with the rules and regulations governing the conduct of the examinations.

This year’s sensitization programme brought together thousands of students at all the 32 locations. The turn up was encouraging compared to previous years. WAEC officers who were present in all the centres took time to explain to candidates the Dos and Don’ts of the examination. Candidates were also given tips on passing their examination. It was indeed an interactive session as candidates were given the opportunity to ask questions boggling their minds about the examination and about WAEC. The sensitization programme was held across the country from the 20th to 27th August, 2019.

Meanwhile, WAEC wishes all candidates taking part in the WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2019, success in their papers. The Council also urges candidates to comply with the rules and regulations governing the examination.
