UHAS Top Up Admission Forms 2024/2025
LATEST UPDATE:Â As of the time of publication, the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) mature access form for the 2024/2025 academic year is not yet out. This post is intended to serve as a guide to prospective applicants.
It is announced for the information of prospective Applicants (as specified above) and the general public that E-vouchers for application forms for programmes for the 2024/2025 Academic Year will start selling from the third week in January, 2021.
The Top-Up programmes are expected to commence in August, 2020.

SCHOOL OF NURSING AND MIDWIFERY (TOP UP – WEEKEND) – HO CAMPUS
- Bachelor of Nursing
- Bachelor of Midwifery
- Bachelor of Public Health Nursing
- Bachelor of Mental Health Nursing
Entry Requirements
- Applicants must have certification by Nursing and Midwifery Council, Ghana.
- Applicants must hold a Diploma with Final Grade Point Average (FGPA) of 2.50 or better.
- Applicants must hold Certificate(s) in any of the following areas: SRN and Public Health Nursing (PHN), Midwifery and Mental Health Nursing / Registered Mental Health Nursing (RMN).
- Short-listed applicants may be required to attend a selection interview.
- Applicants MUST have practised in their chosen fields for three (3) years or more.
- The point of entry will be Level 300.
- Crossing over from one programme to another (e.g. General Nursing, Public Health Nursing and Midwifery) is allowed but the point of entry is Level 200 instead of Level 300 and they must write the Licensing Examination.
- Post NAC/NAP Midwifery applicants will progress in the field of Midwifery and are exempted from writing the Licensing Examination. The point of entry is Level 300 but this is at the discretion of the University. The University may decide to put an applicant at Level 200.
SCHOOL OF ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCES (TOP UP – WEEKEND) – HO CAMPUS
- Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science
The School of Allied Health Sciences of the University will run Top-Up programme (week-ends) for professional Medical Laboratory Technicians and other health workers during the academic year. Candidates for the Top-up programme will be admitted to Levels 300 / 200 leading to the award of Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science.
Entry Requirements for Level 300
- Applicants must hold a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science/Technology awarded by institutions recognized by UHAS with Final Grade Point Average (FGPA) of 2.5 or better.
- Applicants must have not less than 3 years certified practice in Medical Laboratory Science.
- Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend a selection interview
- Point of entry for successful candidates will be Level 300 Other candidates with a BSc degree in Laboratory /Biological Sciences with minimum FGPA of 2.5 or Second Class Division who wants a professional career in medical laboratory science may also apply
- The point of entry is Level 300
Entry Requirements for Level 200
- Applicants who have no medical laboratory qualification, but have HND (Science Laboratory Technology) qualification and with Final Grade Point Average (FGPA) of 2.0 or better are eligible to apply
- Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years working experience in a laboratory setting
- Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend a selection interview
- Point of entry for successful candidates will be Level 200
OR
- Applicants with certificates in Medical Laboratory Technology and with Final Grade Point Average (FGPA) of 2.0 or better from a recognised Ministry of Health Institution or any institution accredited by National Accreditation Board and Allied Health Professional Council respectively
- Applicants must have not less than 3 years certified practice in medical laboratory science
- Applicants will be required to pass an access course examination organised by the University
- Point of entry for successful candidates will be Level 200
SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH (TOP UP – SANDWICH) – HOHOE CAMPUS
- Bachelor of Public Health (BPH) with the following options:
Disease Control
Environmental Health
Health Information
Health Promotion
Nutrition
Entry Requirements
- Candidates with Diploma awarded by recognized Health Institutions and Institutions under the Ministry of Health shall require an FGPA of 2.50 or better/equivalent.
- Short-listed applicants shall be required to attend a selection interview.
- A holder of a two year or three year diploma in any Environmental Health discipline with an FGPA of 2.50 or better may apply for Bachelor of Public Health (Environmental Health option).
- Applicants MUST have practised in their chosen fields for three (3) years or more.
- The point of entry will be Level 300.
