accredited institution in Civil Engineering or Building Technology with at least two
years post qualification working experience.

BSc. Mechanical Engineering

Holders of a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering or its

WASSCE Applicants

2-YEAR DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES

Diploma in Information Technology

SSSCE Holders

Six (6) Passes (A-D) in three (3) core subjects: English Language, Mathematics and
Integrated Science/Social Studies plus credit in three (3) elective subjects from
the following: Business, Sciences (with Elective Mathematics), General Arts (with Elective Mathematics or Economics), Home Economics (with Elective Mathematics and Economics).

WASSCE Holders

Six (6) Passes (A1-C6) in three (3) core subjects: English Language, Mathematics
and Integrated Science/Social Studies plus credit in three (3) elective subjects.

Other Qualifications
• Ordinary Level certificate with passes in at least five (5) subjects at GCE “O”
level (or its equivalent including English and Modern Mathematics)
• Six passes in WAEC General Business Certificate Examination or any other
related programme.

International Applicants

a. International Qualifications: International qualifications acceptable for
consideration for admission include International Baccalaureate (IB),
GECSE, American Grade 13 examinations and other external qualifications,
which have equivalences to the WASSCE/SSSCE.
b. Any other international certificate will be sent to the National Accreditation
Board for assessment and advice.

Diploma in Insurance

SSSCE Holders

Six (6) Passes (A –E) in all subjects, including English, Core Mathematics and any
other Core Subjects, and any three Elective Subjects. At least three (3) of the
subjects should be Credit Passes (D) or better.

WASSCE Holders

Six (6) Passes (A1 – D7) in all subjects, including English, Core Mathematics and
any other Core Subjects, and any three Elective Subjects. At least three (3) of
the subjects should be Credit Passes (C6) or better

Foreign Applicants

Foreign applicants must have qualifications which have equivalences to the WASSCE/SSSCE as indicated above.

MATURED APPLICANT
• Be at least 25 years
• Provide an introductory letter from employer or show any other proof of
employment;
• Pass Mature Students’ Entrance Examination

4-YEAR BACHELOR OF SCIENCE PROGRAMMES

BSc. Hospitality Management

SSSCE/WASSCE candidates must possess Credit Passes (A-D) and (A1-C6)
respectively in three (3) Core subjects; English Language, Mathematics and
Integrated Science/Social Studies and three (3) elective science subjects from
the following; Science, General Arts, Home Economics, Business, Agriculture and
Visual Art.

This is a four-semester intensive programme. Applicants must have an HND

3-YEAR BACHELOR OF SCIENCE TOP-UP PROGRAMMES

BSc. Agricultural and Resource Economics, BSc Agriculture and BSc Agribusiness
This is a six-semester intensive programme. Applicants must have a Certificate in
any of the following or any other related programme: Forestry/Forest Science,
Agroforestry, Agriculture Extension, Animal Production, Crop Production,
Horticulture and Agribusiness.

4-YEAR BACHELOR OF SCIENCE PROGRAMMES

BSc. Agriculture/BSc Agribusiness

This is an eight-semester intensive programme. SSSCE/WASSCE Candidates with
Credit Passes (A-D)/(A1-C6) respectively in six (6) subjects comprising three (3)
core subjects; English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science; and any
three (3) elective subjects in Science, General Agriculture, Business, General Arts,
Home Economics and Visual Art for BSc Agribusiness.
Three (3) electives in the following: Biology, Chemistry and Physics, or Elective
Mathematics OR General Agriculture/ Forestry, Chemistry and Physics or Elective
Mathematics for BSc Agriculture.

2-YEAR DIPLOMA PROGRAMME

This is a four-semester intensive programme. SSSCE/WASSCE Candidates with
Credit Passes (A-D)/(A1-C6) respectively in five (5) subjects comprising three (3)
core subjects; English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science; and any
two (2) elective subjects in Science, General Agriculture, Business, General Arts Home Economics and Visual Art.

4-YEAR BACHELOR OF SCIENCE PROGRAMME

BSc. Climate Change and Sustainable Development

SSSCE Candidates: To be admitted to the BSc. in Climate Change and Sustainable
Development programme, SSSCE Candidates should have Passes (A-D) in six (6)
subjects comprising core subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, and
Core Science/Integrated Science or Social Studies; and three (3) elective Science
subjects from Chemistry, Physics, Biology/General Agriculture/Forestry, Elective
Mathematics, Geography, Economics, History and Government.

WASSCE Candidates: WASSCE Candidates should have Credit Passes (A1-C6) in
six (6) subjects comprising core subjects, including English Language,
Mathematics, and Core Science/Integrated Science or Social Studies; and three
(3) elective Science subjects from Chemistry, Physics, Biology/General
Agriculture/Forestry, Elective Mathematics, Geography, Economics, History and
Government

In addition, SSSCE and WASSCE Candidates should have at least a grade D and
C6 in Social Studies, respectively.

Foreign Applicants

Passes in six science subjects including English Language and Mathematics.
Other Qualifications: Other qualifications acceptable for consideration for
admission include International Baccalaureate (IB), IGCSE, GCSE, American
Grade 13 examinations and other external qualifications which have
equivalences to the WASSCE/SSSCE and the GCE (A Levels).

Foreign certificates will be sent to the National Accreditation Board for
assessment and advice.

Mature Students’ Entry

The applicant must:
• Be at least 25 years old by the start of the academic year one wants to
enrol.
• Show proof of age with birth certificate or any legitimate documentary
proof of birth date
• Pass Mature Students’ Entrance Examinations conducted by UENR (English
Language, Mathematics and an Aptitude Test).

Professional and Post-Diploma Applicants

Candidates in this category must possess a professional or Higher National
Diploma (HND) or its equivalence in a relevant programme from a recognised
institution.

SCHOOL OF ARTS AND SOCIAL SCIENCES

2-YEAR BACHELOR OF SCIENCE TOP-UP PROGRAMME

BSc. Resource Enterprise and Entrepreneurship

Professional and Post-Diploma Applicants

Candidates in this category must:
• Possess a professional or Higher National Diploma (HND) or its equivalence
in a relevant programme from a recognised institution (e.g. Marketing,
Business Management, Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Economics, General
Agriculture, Agribusiness, Forestry, etc).

Candidates with HND/relevant professional or diploma certificates who obtained
in Entrepreneurship will enter at level 300. Those with HND in other relevant areas
other than Entrepreneurship will enter at level 200 if successful at an interview.

MATURE APPLICANTS

Applicants must:
i. be at least 25 years old and show proof of age with a birth certificate or any
legitimate documentary proof of date of birth which is at least 5 years old at the
time of application.
ii. pass Mature Students’ Entrance Examinations conducted by the institution itself
(English Language, Mathematics and an Aptitude Test).

SSSCE/WASSCE Applicants

SSSCE Candidates: To be admitted to the BSc. in Economics programme, SSSCE
candidates should have Passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising core subjects,
including English Language, Mathematics and Core Science/Integrated Science;
Economics and Elective Mathematics in addition to any one of the following elective
subjects: Geography, Government, History, Accounting, Business Management and
Costing.

WASSCE Candidates: should have Credit Passes (A1-C6) in six (6) subjects comprising
core subjects, including English Language, Mathematics and Core Science/Integrated
Science; and Economics and Elective Mathematics in addition to any one of the
following elective subjects: Geography, Government, History, Accounting, Business
Management and Costing.

In addition, Social studies can be used in lieu of Integrated Science; SSSCE and WASSCE
candidates should have at least a grade D and C6 in Social Studies, respectively.

BSc. Resource Enterprise and Entrepreneurship

(i) SSSCE/WASSCE candidates must possess Credit Passes (A-D) and (A1-C6)
respectively in three (3) Core subjects; English Language, Core Mathematics and
Integrated Science/Social Studies in addition to any three (3) elective subjects
from the following; Sciences, General Arts, Home Economics, Business.
(II) Ordinary Level Certificate with passes (1 – 8) in at least five (5) subjects at
G.C.E. ‘O’ Level (or its equivalent including English Language and Modern
Mathematics.
(III) Certificate in Forestry, Agriculture and any other related programme from a
recognized and accredited institution.

MATURE APPLICANTS

Applicants must:
i. be at least 25 years old and show proof of age with a birth certificate or any
legitimate documentary proof of date of birth which is at least 5 years old at the
time of application.

ii. pass Mature Students’ Entrance Examinations conducted by the institution itself
(English Language, Mathematics and an Aptitude Test).

2-YEAR DIPLOMA PROGRAMME

Diploma in Enterprise Managemnet

1. SSSCE Holders
Six (6) Passes (A –D) in all subjects, including English and Mathematics.

2. WASSCE Holders
Six (6) Passes (A1 – D7) in all subjects, three (3) of which should be credit
passes (C6) or better.

3. Ordinary Level certificate with passes (1-7) in at least five (5) subjects at
G.C.E “O” level (or its equivalent including English and Mathematics)
4. Certificate in Business Studies/ Management awarded by a recognized
University
5. Six passes in WAEC General Business Certificate Examination or any other
related programme.
Foreign Applicants
a. Foreign Qualifications: Foreign qualifications acceptable for consideration

The cost of admission E-voucher is as follows: All Undergraduate and Diploma Programmes for GH¢250.00 (Ghanaian Applicants)

HOW TO APPLY FOR UENR TOP-UP ADMISSION

All applicants should purchase an Online application e-voucher from the
following sale points; GCB Bank PLC, Zenith Bank, Ghana Post, Accra Office
(UENR), and Finance Directorate (UENR-Sunyani) and APPLY ONLINE. Applicants
should log-in onto admissions.uenr.edu.gh and follow carefully the instructions.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ADMISSION PROCESS

Applicants must have the following;

i. Valid personal email
ii. Valid personal mobile (cell) phone number
iii. Scanned copies of certified certificates and transcripts
iv. A digital passport picture that fully certifies the University’s requirements.

SUBMISSION OF COPIES OF COMPLETED ONLINE APPLICATION FORMS

Applicants should submit their completed Application Documents (two copies of
completed online Application forms submitted with two copies of result slips,
certificates, transcripts and any relevant documents).

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION

The completed application documents should reach the CENTRE REGISTRAR,
CENTRE FOR DISTANCE EDUCATION AND E-LEARNING, UENR, not later than
MONDAY, OCTOBER 31, 2022

Photocopies of the pin and serial numbers are to be kept for reference purposes.

PLEASE NOTE CAREFULLY

I. A Programme would ONLY be mounted upon successful recruitment of
a minimum number of qualified applicants (students) as agreed by the
University Management. Facilitation would be a blend of traditional
face-to-face and online sessions on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays)

II. ADMISSION TO THE UNIVERSITY IS TRANSPARENTLY ADMINISTERED WITHOUT
