Prospective Teachers who could not register for the maiden edition which ended on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 are expected to take advantage of the opportunity.

Teacher Trainees who could not take part in the maiden edition due to their resit exams are also advised to take advantage of the opportunity.

The registration and examination will take place within the month of December and the National Teaching Council is expected to come out with the exact dates for the registration and examination.

Why Phase 2 of the Teacher Licensure Examination

The need for the phase two of the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) has been due to a stakeholders meeting which included the Teacher Unions before the commencement of the maiden edition, which concluded that the Licensure Examination should be Conducted twice in a year in order to allow prospective teachers who might not be able to register earlier, to get themselves Registered.

About the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination

The examination applies to all teachers who hold the Diploma in Basic Education (DBE), Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or a post-graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) who want to be employed by the Ghana Education Service.

The National Teaching Council is to oversee the exam in accordance with the Education Act, 2008 (Act 778).
