Rural Enterprises Programme (REP) 2019/2020 for Young Ghanaian Graduates
Applications are invited from Young Ghanaian Graduates for The Rural Enterprises Programme (REP) Recruitment 2019/2020.
The Rural Enterprises Programme (REP), under the Ministry of Trade and Industry, calls for applications to participate in its newly introduced “Empowering Novel Agribusiness-Led Employment for Youth (ENABLE Youth)” 1D1F Initiative.
The REP ENABLE Youth Program seeks to encourage young graduates to establish agribusinesses, along key value chains in selected districts across the country, through technical/business skills training and internship modules, in line with the 1D1F Policy.
Successful applicants will be trained and supported to form companies and provided with agro-processing centres, based on winning business plans, as interest free loans. They will also be provided with working capital loans and challenge grant funds. Others will also be supported to establish and own various Strategic Business Units (SBUs) along major operations entry points ( e.g. production, aggregation, marketing, transportation, etc) to support the factories.
Expected Outcomes
The initiative intends to use factories as a vehicle to create jobs for tertiary level graduates, with each factory envisaged to provide direct jobs to a minimum of 50 graduates in different capacities. Primarily, a combination of potential shareholders and factory management graduates are expected to be employed by the factories. The expected outcomes:
- Fifty-eight (58) factories/companies established at targeted district assemblies
- Fifty-eight (58) youth-led business incorporated under the Companies Act
- At least, 2,900 youth trained in entrepreneurship and targeted value chains
Eligibility criteria:
- Be a citizen of Ghana
- Aged between 24 and 35
- Having completed tertiary education (Agric college, Diploma, HND, Degrees, etc)
- Passionate about agribusiness
- Ready to work in rural communities
