RMU Teaching Arrangement for 1st Semester of 2020/2021 Academic Year
The Regional Maritime University (RMU) teaching arrangement for the first semester of the 2020/2021 academic year has been released.
Further to the Academic Council Meeting of the 14th September 2020, it is announced for the information of staff and students of the Regional Maritime University that the Lecture schedule for the first semester of 2020/2021 academic year is as follows.
1. First year student (Level 100) will have one week face to face orientation on campus from 5th to 9th October, 2020 after which they will receive lectures online.
2. lectures for continuing students (Level 200-400) will be delivered online with effect from Monday, 21st September 2020.
3. Postgraduate, upgrades and marine engine mechanic students will receive face-to-face lectures while observing all the COVID-19 health and hygiene protocols.
4. Weekend students will also receive face-to-face lectures.
5. Final year students of the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science (B.Sc Marine Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, and Diploma in Marine Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering and Information Technology ) will report to campus for five (5) weeks beginning from Monday, 5th October 2020 to undergo face-to-face Laboratory/Workshop practicals with all the COVID-19 protocols fully observed.
6. FInal year students of the Faculty of Maritime Studies will also report to campus for two (2) weeks beginning from Monday 9th November 2020 to receive face-to-face orientation project/dissertation writing.
7. Al students are reminded to pay 40% of the First Semester tuition fees to enable them to access the Learning Management System for online lectures.
8. Interested final year students who want to make use of the University Hostels should submit an application to the Academic Registry for consideration.
9. All and sundry will be required to observe the health and hygiene protocols while on campus by;
a. Wearing face masks/face shield at all times.
b. Observing social distancing
c. Frequently washing of hands as well as sanitizing of hands.
