 Job Title: Regulatory Officer – Probabilistic Safety Assessment

Job Summary

• Candidate will be part of a technical support team planning and executing quantitative risk assessments and/or risk-based statistical analyses.
• He/She will support the planning and the development of risk assessment focused on high consequence, low probability events for
nuclear and radiological facilities.
• Must be conversant with advanced decision modelling and data analysis, including statistical and mathematical models that inform probabilistic risk assessments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Masters in engineering, physical sciences, mathematics, statistics or other related subjects.

Location: Kwabenya, Accra

 Job Title: Regulatory Officer – Environmental Safety

Job Summary

• He/She will assist with data/ information analysis to ensure public/environmental health and safety.
• A key area of focus is environmental radiation safety which cuts across nuclear, radiological, industrial thematic areas, as well as environmental impact assessments.
• The candidate will support in the establishment and enforcement of policies and regulations related to the control of environmental radiation hazards and inspect licensee facilities and equipment to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualification

• Minimum of Masters in environmental engineering or environmental science or related subject with knowledge in nuclear methods and techniques.

 Job Title: Regulatory Officer – Nuclear Security

Job Summary

• The candidate will investigate and analyse characteristics of human behaviour and performance as it relates to the use nuclear material and radiation, and operation of nuclear and other radiological facilities and activities.
• He/She will support in the development of regulations and guides, conduct review and assessments as well as conduct human technology interface inspections.

Qualification

• Minimum of Masters in engineering or physical sciences with specialization in human-technology interaction or human factors/ergonomics.

 Job Title: Regulatory Officer – Human Factors Engineering

Job Summary

• The candidate will be responsible for developing regulations and guidelines and for conducting review and assessments of nuclear installation systems including the piping and pressure vessel systems of the installation.
• The candidate will also be responsible for conducting inspections of the installation systems to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements as well as relevant engineering codes and standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Masters in chemical engineering, nuclear engineering, industrial chemistry or other related subjects.

 Job Title: Regulatory Officer – Process Engineering

Job Summary

• The candidate will be responsible for the review and assessment of stress analysis computations for nuclear installations, including reactor vessel and reactor vessel internal components as well as replacement components.
• To fulfil this responsibility, the person will perform calculations and apply relevant industrial codes to the design and analysis of these components. • He/She will also be involved in developing regulations and guidelines in addition to conducting inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualification

• Minimum of Masters in mechanical or nuclear engineering or other related subjects with experience in numerical analysis (e.g., finite element analysis).

Job Summary

• The candidate will be responsible for the review and assessment of stress analysis computations for nuclear installations, including reactor vessel and reactor vessel internal components as well as replacement components.

 Job Title: Regulatory Officer – Emergency Preparedness

Job Summary

• The candidate will assist with the planning and response to emergencies, be responsible for the conduct of trainings and exercises on emergencies, and will be involved in the review and assessment of all necessary documentation from licensees on emergency preparedness and
response.
• The position will also involve the development of regulatory documents for licensees and collaboration with disaster management teams at the national level on nuclear and radiological emergency arrangements. Additionally, the position will assist to provide advice and ensure the enforcement of regulatory requirements during response to emergencies.

Qualification

• Minimum of Masters in disaster, emergency or risk management or other related subjects.
