Nestlé Ghana Limited started the business in Ghana in 1957 under the trading name of Nestlé Products (Gh) Limited with the importation of Nestlé products such as milk and chocolates. In 1968, it was incorporated as Food Specialties (Gh) Limited to manufacture and market locally well known Nestlé brands. The company became Nestlé Ghana Limited in 1987. In 1971 the production of the IDEAL Milk and MILO started at the Tema Factory. The factory has since been further developed and now also produces CARNATION milk, CHOCOLIM, CHOCOMILO CEREVITA, CERELAC and NESCAFÉ 3 in 1. These products are not only produced for Ghana but also exported across West Africa. In 2003, Nestlé Ghana Ltd invested in a new warehouse, the Central Distribution center, located next to the factory in Tema. The company also runs sales offices with warehouses in Kumasi, Takoradi, Koforidua, and Tamale. The business activity of Nestlé Ghana Ltd is a direct contribution to the Ghanaian economy. Nestlé Ghana Ltd is currently looking for a General Services Officer to provide efficient maintenance and repairs support services for our company’s fleet including material handling equipment.
Fleet Maintenance:
- Coordinating routine maintenance of vehicles and material handling equipment repairs.
- Working safely and supporting the overall Safety, Health and Environment Management standards
- Monitoring and reporting on the operational performance of the company’s fleet of vehicles
Third-Party Driver Supervision:
- Inspecting staff buses and reporting on driver bahaviour:
- Supervising third party drivers for MANCOM and drivers of Factory pool vehicles.
- Providing on-the-job training, where necessary to drivers and other staff who uses company vehicles to ensure proper handling of company’s fleet.
SAP Activities (Purchase Requestor):
- Creation of purchase requisition for vehicle and other related items
- Conducting Goods receipts, service entry executed maintenance and services provided
Tom Card Usage:
- Monitoring and reporting on the use of Tom cards by drivers and others assigned the use of company pool vehicles
- Providing updated list of company vehicles to be loaded with fuel (Tom Cards).
- Ensuring that Tom Card invoices are submitted to finance.
General Maintenance:
- Ensuring maintenance of assigned facilities per agreed standards.
- Supervising contractors on site by issuing them with work permits
- Using a checklist to monitor MHE and the operator performance
- Providing monthly utility data for SHE-PM reporting
SHE Support:
- Ensuring that contractors and other third party maintenance providers on the site comply with SHE regulations. E.g using of permit to work.
- Assisting Site SHE Coordinator in carrying out BBS visit, drills, management of First Aid and Suggestion Boxes
- 2-3 years in a similar role
- Experience in the FMCG sector
- Project Management
- Minimum HND or First Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
