NCTE Approves New Programmes for UDS

The National Council for Tertiary Education (NCTE) has offered approval to the University for the introduction of four new programmes.

In a letter dated 5th February, 2019 signed by Prof. Mohammed Salifu, Executive Secretary, NCTE, the council wrote:

‘‘ Further to our letter dated July 31, 2018, the National Council for Tertiary Education (NCTE) considered the recommendations of its Academic Committee on revised proposals for the introduction of the underlisted programmes from the University for Development Studies:

  • BSc. Ecotourism and Hospitality Management
  • BSc. Environmental Management and Sustainability
  • MSc./MPhil./Ph.D Environmental Management and Sustainability
  • BSc. Forest Resource Conservation and Management

The NCTE noted that the proposals had been adequately revised in line with its guidelines and were relevant to national development. In this regard, the Council has approved the introduction of the programmes subject to accreditation.’’
