The Local Government Service is a public Service institution established by the Local Government Service Act, 2003 (Act 656) which has been repealed and replaced with the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936). The Service exists ‘’to secure effective administration and management of the decentralised local government system in the country’’.
Job Description
Job Title: Assistant Engineer (Serial No: OHLGS 1)
Job Purpose:
Provides technical advice in engineer.ing programmes and projects and assists in the operational implementation of engineering works.
Accountability: The Assistant Engineer shall report to the Head of Department/Unit
Remuneration: The Assistant Engineer is a graduate (first degree) entry position with salary level SSSP 16L and other attractive fringe benefits.
Required Skills or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Quantity Surveying, Building Technology, Construction
Technology & Management, Mechanical, Agricultural and Architecture) from a recognized university.
