KNUST Suspends Second-Semester Examinations Amid UTAG Strike

Following the nationwide industrial strike embarked upon by the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG), the Management of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has suspended the conduct of the end of the second-semester examinations for the 2020/2021 academic year.

According to the statement copied to ghstudents.com, “The end of second-semester examinations originally scheduled for Monday, August 9, 2021, to Friday, August 20, 2021, have temporarily be suspended until further notice,” the KNUST Management stated in the release.

According to the management, a new date for the conduct of the end of semester examinations at the appropriate time will be communicated to members of the university community, students and the general public.

UTAG has been on strike since August 2, 2021.

The Association wants the 2012 conditions of service to peg the Basic plus Market Premium of a lecturer at $2,084.42.
