Government To Absorb WASSCE Fees Of All Final Year Students

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has announced that the government will absorb the examination fees of all final year SHS students who will sit for the 2020 West Africa Senior School Certification Examination (WASSCE).

The President said this in his 12th address to the nation on measures taken to combat the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

According to President Akufo-Addo, the intervention which will cost about GHC75.4 million, will benefit a total of 318,837 SHS 3 students across the country.

“For the first time in our nation’s history, Government will absorb the WASSCE examination fees of the three hundred and thirteen thousand, eight hundred and thirty-seven (313,837) SHS 3 students who will sit for the exam. GH¢75.4 million will be spent on this.”
