The Technical Advisor for Employment Promotion at GIZ Ghana will be tasked with supporting the initiative ‘eskills4girls’ within the TVET component of the Programme for Sustainable Economic Development (PSED) to contribute to the programme’s objectives and indicators. This primarily means managing and coordinating the preparation and implementation of mentoring programmes for young Women in Tech, image campaigns with female role models as well as start-up support programmes and all other daily operational aspects related to that.

Assignment Period: Contract ends on 30.09.2022
Tasks
• Supports the team in the selection of project partners (female role models, NGOs, networks, private and public sector partners like e.g. COTVET)
• Assists in formulating implementation plans, concept notes and ToRs for Short Term Experts
• Develops a campaigning strategy for young women and girls to engage in ICT related fields/participate in training programmes
• Conceptualizes and builds up support structures for the participants of formal training programmes in ICT (e.g. business development, coaching/mentoring, accelerator programmes, access to financing)
• Deals with the design, preparation and implementation of any other workshops, seminars and other events on topics connected to the project’s interventions
• Develops and maintains contact with all important project stakeholders
• Builds up a professional network of relevant actors working in ICT related fields / women’s empowerment in Ghana
• Identifies partners for conducting awareness campaigns/publicity events (.e.g role models for women in ICT)
• Builds up mentoring programmes/alumni circles for young women in ICT related fields
• Drafts project fact sheets and communication materials for the PSED support to ‘eskills4girls’
• Prepares contributions (texts, pictures) for various internal and external newsletters and other publications (collecting partner news and stories, conducting interviews with stakeholders, drafting articles)
• Reviews, designs, edits and formats technical publications, reports and studies
• Takes photos during project events and/or coordinates with professional photographers and videographers when required.
• Keeps project descriptions and website links on the respective partners’ websites up-to-date
• Provides editorial support concerning content related to pages on general GIZ websites and coordinates and advises on the online presentations
• Ensures knowledge management; collects, processes and distributes relevant information
• Collects data on project activities to contribute to the joint monitoring system
Qualifications
Your Profile
• BA or comparable qualification in business development or related fields
• At least three (3) years of professional experience
• Proven work experience in project or event management
• Possesses knowledge of business development/support to start ups (incubation, acceleration)
• Work experience with international organizations would be an asset.
• Strong managerial and organisational competencies
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong coordination skills in order to bring together stakeholders and balance their interests
• Ability to quickly develop and use networks
• Must be a team player in an international environment
• Very good knowledge of ICT technologies and computer applications (especially In-Design or Photoshop, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Excellent knowledge of the English Language (written and oral), fluency in the German language is an added advantage
• Willingness to travel within Ghana and possibly internationally even on short notice
• Willingness to update skills as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management
• Knowledge of gender studies would be an additional advantage.
