About Scholarship 

The Eiffel Scholarship Program was established under the auspices of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Its primary aim is to assist French higher education institutions in attracting outstanding international students to their master’s and doctoral programs. The overarching goal is to prepare future leaders and decision-makers from around the world in both the public and private sectors, focusing on key areas of study and research.

Degree Level:

French universities and research institutions that put forward candidates for the Eiffel program pledge to accept these candidates into:

• A master’s degree program officially recognized by the French government.

• An accredited engineering program.

• A collaborative doctoral program (involving joint dissertation supervision and/or a dual degree arrangement) in cooperation with an international higher education institution.

Available Subjects:

The Eiffel Scholarship Program encompasses two major academic domains, encompassing the following areas of study:

  1. Science and Technology
  • Biology and Health
  • Ecological Transition
  • Mathematics and Digital Sciences
  • Engineering

2. Humanities and Social Sciences

  • French History, Language, and Civilization
  • Law and Political Science
  • Economics and Management

Scholarship Benefits:

Master’s Level Eiffel Scholarship Recipients:

  • Monthly allowance: €1,181
  • Additional benefits: International and domestic travel support Insurance coverage Assistance in finding accommodation Participation in cultural activities

Note: Tuition and fees are not covered by the Eiffel program for master’s or doctoral studies.

Eligibility Criteria:

The eligibility criteria for the France Excellence Eiffel Scholarship Program 2024 are as follows:

Nationality: The Eiffel program is reserved for applicants of foreign nationality. Binational candidates whose nationality is French are not eligible.

Age: Master’s level: 25 years old maximum at the date of the selection committee. PhD level: 30 years old maximum at the date of the selection committee.

Academic record: Applicants must have an excellent academic record and be ranked in the top 10% of their class.

Field of study: Priority will be given to applicants who are studying in fields that are aligned with the priorities of French foreign policy, such as engineering, science, economics, and management.

Language requirements: Applicants must have a good level of proficiency in French, with a minimum score of B2 on the CEFR scale. In addition to the above criteria, applicants must also be nominated by a French higher education institution.

This means that you must contact a French university directly to see if they are willing to nominate you for the scholarship.

How To Apply

Step 1

Contact the Campus France office in your country of origin or the Cooperation and Culture Office of the French Embassy; both can advise you about your study plans. Contact the French educational institution or research organization by visiting its website or by emailing or telephoning its office of international relations to learn how to apply for admission (including the date by which your application must be received). Inform them of your wish to be considered for an Eiffel scholarship. It is your responsibility to choose the school or university that best suits your plans to study or conduct research in France. All French institutions of higher education can nominate candidates for Eiffel scholarships.

Step 2

The educational institution accepts and supports your application for the Eiffel Scholarship. The institution files your application online using Campus France’s dedicated website. Applications submitted directly by students or by institutions outside France will not be accepted.

Documents Required for Submission to Campus France:

  • Your current residential address
  • Your email address and contact number
  • Proof of your academic enrollment
  • Proof of enrollment in the national health insurance scheme (Sécurité Sociale)
  • Campus France will send you two annual documents for tracking your academic progress.

These documents include an evaluation form at the conclusion of your first semester and a report on your performance at the end of the academic year. These forms should be completed and signed by your educational institution before returning them to Campus France. If you meet all of the eligibility criteria, you can apply for the Eiffel scholarship online through the Campus France website.

The deadline to apply is January 10, 2024. Please note that the Eiffel Scholarship is a very competitive program, and only a small number of applicants are selected each year. However, if you have a strong academic record and are passionate about studying in France, I encourage you to apply.
